Yeah.......I guess in Europe, a scooter can make sense in the city. And they do look fun. The Vespa 300 can hit over 80mph too. Very expensive. Can’t beat the KTM Duke 390 if you want something almost as small as a scooter, but so much power. Funnest bike I ever had. Headed out to the condo in Orange, CA next week. Gonna ride up to the Hollywood hills......reading a new book on the Wonderland Murders in Laurel Canyon. Gonna ride the KTM Duke up there.

My wife and I went to Tuscany a few years back, and I rented a car.

Driving through a medium sized town, as I came up to a stop light, a swarm of scooters appeared all around me, completely haphazardly. When the light changed, they all swarmed ahead, completely haphazardly, cris-crossing in front of me, weaving back and forth as if they were drunk.

There must have been 20 or 30 of them...it was funny, nerve-wracking, and fascinating all at the same time. Happened again at the next light.

I think you are correct in that the car in question had entered that intersection before Clooney appeared on the screen.

Don’t know about Sardinian driving laws but where I live Clooney would have not had the right of way even though the other driver wanted to turn left.

He was on a fairly large Yamaha, and can be seen on it in other photos from Europe. He’s an experienced rider with a collection of classic bikes. Seen in So Cal frequently on a Harley.

Looks like he was distracted or confused, and at his age might not want to accept that his reflexes are declining.

Or maybe God just missed...

I tend to yield to big SUVs and trucks... I am a life-long boater, and know all the "rules of the road" when it comes to boating and yielding the right of way. When it comes to yielding to other vehicles and boats, I refer to it as the "Laws of Tonnage".

K. But I still say nobody will ever confuse George Clooney with Steve McQueen. Certainly not dirt bike riders.. riders.....like I used to be.
