My old FFL promised that a mysterious fire would close down his gun shop only days before his retirement, thus destroying all the forms.

"The FBI's leadership has been revealed to be a corrupt group of people. Now they are supposed to oversee our rights? Really? They can't even stay within the law themselves. A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.
Even the setting up of this sort of system, is a violation of the intent of the Second Amendment.
It's time we put this genie back in the bottle."
Well said! The DOJ & the FBI should have been flushed by Trump on Feb 1, 2017! 95% of everything in the fake news media today would be non-existent...

I’d have to give that some thought, but it’s not outside the realm of possibility.
My concern would be federal crimes and large national incidents where a federal level investigative and prosecutor staff would seem necessary.
Yes, I know they haven’t got a good track record right now, and that’s an understatement.

NICS produces too many false hits for gun buys. For its main use, the system has some issues with currency and quality of data (input error).
The positives of NICS is it doesnt allow cataloging or tracking of purchases. Havent seen this new system to comment on it.

> Fraught with errors before, and if, it ever gets off the ground. You bring up a good point. This could have a much broader impact on John Q. Public than just firearms purchases, with little to no ability to correct or even know about any erroneous information in the system.

Do I recall that the enabling legislation for NICS specifically prohibited this sort of parallel system?Oh please, as if they care about that.

Probably even prior to Ruby Ridge!!!!!!!
The votes are in and the ruling is about as clear as can be.
The agency is over the hill, corrupt as corrupt can get, and we are paying for the corruption. In more ways than one.
