President Donald Trump weighed in on Michigan's U.S. Senate race Friday, announcing on Twitter that he was endorsing veteran and businessman John James in the race.
In two tweets, Trump called James "SPECTACULAR" and praised his credentials as a "West Point graduate, businessman and African American leader."
"Rarely have I seen a candidate with such great potential," Trump tweeted. "John is strong on crime and borders, loves our Military, our Vets and our Second Amendment. He will be a star. He has my full and total Endorsement!"
Also on Twitter, James thanked Trump for his support and said he looks forward to "working with you to make MICHIGAN, and AMERICA, great again!"

Hopefully Trump’s endorsement of John James will have the same effect as his endorsement of Brian Kemp in GA governor run-off. Kemp beat Casey Cagle 69-31.
If you back into history endorsements were made by Franklin Roosevelt in 1930’s of “New Deal” Democrats. If Trump is endorsing “Trump Republicans” then things will get better.
To be honest endorsing Mitt Romney in Utah earlier this year for US Senate was not the endorsement of a “Trump Republican”.
JJ always referred to himself as a conservative outsider.

He had my vote after Bob Young dropped out of the race.

With two tweets and his caps lock on, President Trump endorsed Mr. James in the Michigan Republican primary — “SPECTACULAR!” — giving the underdog campaign a jolt just before voters head to the polls on Tuesday.
