North Korea has not stopped its nuclear and missile programmes in violation of United Nations sanctions, according to a confidential UN report seen by Reuters on Friday (Aug 3).
The six-month report by independent experts monitoring the implementation of UN sanctions was submitted to the Security Council North Korea sanctions committee late on Friday.

As it is, the ship-to-ship transfers (China and South Korea involved, captured by satellite and Japanese aerial monitoring), as well as shipments of goods and materials into NK from China by rail and ship, and the activities of China and Russia (rail and ship) are all growing in nature and becoming a major problem. As it is, North Korea has not given up a damned thing, and missile and nuke programs continue at a number of sites around DPRK, independent of several sites undergoing decommissioning or destruction primarily for show. Shell game. Classic North Korea. Time for more aggressive PSI interdiction on the high seas.
China is the enabler and puppet master of Norith Korea. The ChiComs will only allow the Norks to denuke in exchange for a quid pro. US troops out of Korea? US cave on the trade war? The Spratly Islands? It is my opinion that Xi will never allow truly good faith negotiations with Trump. As in trade, they know Trump has at most six years left in office. China plays the long game and will play rope a dope with America until a more flexible president comes along.
Fake news. “There is no longer a nuclear threat from North Korea.”
North Korea is complicit and in on the whole dishonest, lying scheme and every bit as responsible as China and Russia in view of UN sanctions. Nobody is forcing them at gun point to have their ships come up against fuel trawlers and transfer the goods using a variety of ore-planned and coordinated ploys.
Good one! LOL.
Here is another angle, another loophole you can drive a truck through, that they are exploiting now that the policy of maximum pressure is off replaced by detente and pleasantries. But at least Pompeo appears to be hep to it (today):
SINGAPORESecretary of State Mike Pompeo said the U.S. would raise concerns with Moscow about allegations that Russia has been flouting United Nations sanctions on Pyongyang by doing business with North Korean firms and employing its workers.
Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of a series of meetings with Asian nations in Singapore, Mr. Pompeo said the U.S. is aware of reports that Russia had been allowing North Koreans to do business. If these reports prove accurate, and we have every reason to believe that they are, that would be in violation of U.N. resolutions, he said, reminding other nations that this is a serious issue and something that we will discuss with Moscow.
Problem with this story is I’d have to take Reuters, the UN, meticulously-unnamed, allegedly “independent”, alleged “experts”, and an “unnamed country” at their word - and all of these have been the source of flat-out lies in the past.
UN....mind your own business.
Last week the UN said North Korean children were staving and wanted to feed them
How are things at the state department this morning? Another day trying to undermine Trump?
Laughable I’m supposed to take the word of writers who is quoting unnamed sources in the United Nations.
Gosh what is this world coming to? The Russians won’t do us favors while we’re in the middle of increasing sanctions against them? How weird. Who could have predicted that? /s
A typical liberal MSM fake news.
I am sure they have proper clearance.
But we have predicted MSM will try their best to tell us Trump’s strategy doesn’t work.
So “confidential” that it’s immediately leaked to the press
The Truth will always be second to the primary mission, undermining everything POTUS Trump attempts to do.
any “confidential UN reports” accused Iran of wrongdoing since Obama signed the nuke deal?
Thank you, again, thank you for you summed up exactly what I was thinking.
Now, even when these pro·té·gés of Goebbels do quote factual information from reliable sources they put a twist on the facts to make them appear what they are not.
