TED published this statement in response: After reviewing the talk, we believe it cites research in ways that are open to serious misinterpretation. This led some viewers to interpret the talk as an argument in favor of an illegal and harmful practice. TED would like to make clear that it does not promote pedophilia.

That is referring to a different Tedx discussion. There is a newer discussion, suggesting that pedophilia is a recurring topic for them.

OK, gotta admit massive ignorance on the subject. I’ve been seeing the name TEDx around a lot lately, and that TEDx was trying to normalize pedophilia. .... I assumed that TEDx was some sort of rapper or some hipster YouTube Celebutard.

So, thanks to this thread I took a look. Surprised that it isn’t a person but a ‘thing’.

Scanning through the video titles of TEDx on youtube, it looks like a bunch of pseudo-intellectual claptrap to me, even the stuff that isn’t Social Justice Warrior looking topics.
