CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - Some North Carolina elementary school teachers were initially told they would lose their jobs if they didn't pass a Math test they call difficult and unfair.
Teachers say they recently got a call from their school district informing them they have another year to pass the test. Hundreds of teachers have failed the test repeatedly. Teachers argue what's on the test has nothing to do with what they teach in a classroom for students in Kindergarten to 5th grade.
"Never in a million years would we even come close to teaching some of the topics on this test," veteran CMS teacher Krista Ricks said.

Have you ever taught bone head math in high school? The AP Math classes might sail through them but High School students, don't make me laugh.
It is humiliating that someone who teaches cannot pass a probably simple. It is humiliating to be a good teacher & have moron teachers out there.
Simple test
I did not properly read the article and missed the fact that only math teachers are being given the test but it does not change my opinion of the level of difficulty of the test.
College bound students are dumb as rocks even some of those at the elite colleges. They are totally brainwashed and math and science are becoming extinct except for Asian and Jewish students. Most others would not have a prayer with this test. No wonder we have to import mathematicians and scientists.
That is a good point. Just look at the assumptions in these questions.
My experience was sort of the opposite of yours. I loved math but was often marked down for not showing my work even though the answer was correct. I worked too fast and jumped ahead in the solution.
You answered as I thought and hoped you would.
I was just considering the possibilities.

Ohh yeh the Common Core math. Makes no sense. Asks no questions you’ll ever need to calculate. Guaranteed to flummox the students - AND the teachers. AND the parents. “Let’s make sure it is used nation-wide” say the ... commies??
