Malloy was a psycho, plain and simple. Perhaps the few sane people left in Connecticut finally came to realize it, but too late.

Screw em all. I used to love to visit relatives in Bridgeport and Trumbull, etc, but that was when the state was clean, safe and not led by a bunch of nuts and reds (which makes them now similar to Rhode Island today).

If Ned is a direct relative of old Soviet operative Corliss Lamont, then somebody had better dig very deep into his family’s history of “collusion with the Soviets/KGB”.

Corliss is legendary amongst internal security specialists for his treason yetwas allowed to be a college professor for so long (to poison lots of impressionable minds), with a “Chair” at Columbia Un. being named after him. The only name any “chair” being named for him would be “Old Sparky”.

Red Ned is Commie Corliss’s grand-nephew.

Another Socialist Democrat...Need LaMont...time to hit the air and show voters the differences between Bob Stefanowski and Red LaMont. We can pick up the CT-5 and we need to get Matthew Corey to beat Murphy...

Here's some more details on that: John Kerry and Ned Lamont’s Common Ancestry: Corliss Lamont and the VVAW.

Red Ned (yes, his great uncle was commie Corliss Lamont) will almost certainly beat Stefanowski, who’s not even an authentic ‘pubbie.

CT is perhaps the original habitat of the RINO - from the despicable Lowell Weicker and Bill Nickerson, who gave CT the state income tax while giving themselves and those whose incomes were primarily from dividends and interest a massive tax cut (by 60%) to the wasps and waspish Chris Shays. ‘Pubbies who would rather get along with the rich Dims in their clubs than act with principal, or who are corrupt and stupid - think Rowland.

The Democrats are owned by the public employee unions and Lamont - who talked about fiscal responsibility once upon a time - has gone all in for them.

The only solution for Connecticut is to cut public employee numbers, salaries, pensions and other post employment benefits. It won’t happen until the state is literally bankrupt.

I’m active in local government in CT and it is a constant battle to maintain any sort of fiscal discipline. The laws favor the unions to a ridiculous degree, and everyone wants more spending without much thought who’s paying and how much it will cost.

The only real solution is to sell your property before the market crashes - things here on the Gold Coast, especially on the high end, are way, way below levels before 2008. You rarely see anyone make money over the past 10 years on anything purchased for more than $3-5 million (depending on the town). Then, move to a state without estate tax and without income tax.

Two terms later, much of what he pledged has been slow to materialize

That's a nice way of putting it....

We’ll find out in November when this Democrat goes against the Republican on the ticket.

Lamont’s Achilles Heel (CT Republicans _pay close attention_ and contact any party leaders you know) is his position on tolls.

He is claiming tolls will be mostly paid by out of state folks passing through CT. That is a lie. (Now, Lamont is such a stupid idiot that he may not know he is lying, but it is a lie nonetheless.)

Toll roads are regulated by the Federal Department of Transportation. Their current (and relatively new) regulations require that if you (a state) start to toll on one new road you must toll on _all_ highways they regulate.

So, it is simply not possible to have tolls on I-95 and not have tolls on I-91, I-84, Route 2, Route 9, Route 8.

Even crazy leftist commuters don’t want to pay tolls on their local commute or shopping trip.

This is a _big loser_ for Lamont if he is called on it.

Stefanowski was a Dem even more recently than his other businessman competitors, but he’s gone full MAGA with a Kudlow/Laffer/Moore-endorsed tax cut plan. While the other Pubbies tried to sound like tax cutters, Stef was the only legitimate, promised one.

So there’s some hope there, I would think.

Big hedge fund guy. The state still lives off his type, but they’ve made the economic climate worse and worse, year after year.

Stef, who won the GOP primary had been with GE at one point IIRC, and that is another bad economic story in CT: chasing out the corporate headquarters long based here.

I think he might help Connecticut to get back to a business friendly state... I hope his coattails will flip the state Senate to R and maybe the house, too. I’d love to see Santos beat what the media here is calling the first AA elected to the house from CT - except Gary Franks was the first AA elected. (I guess since he was a R, he wasn’t a true AA.)

Yes, I think yesterday went as well as could be expected. Stef has a chance as, I think, does Santos. Murphy is totally safe.

Trump endorse Bob Stefanowski this morning. Ned LaMont said that Bob will be Trump for Connecticut. Hey, Ned, nothing is wrong if Bob becomes Connecticut’s Trump!!

If LaMont wins, tens of thousands of middle and upper middle class baby boomer tax donkeys will retire, sell their houses for whatever they can get, and move to TN, TX or FL.

Name-calling is irrelevant. It is what it is.
