I was vegan for years and am now vegetarian. I vote republican.
Many older people become at least vegetarian, and some vegan, for health reasons. They are a completely different demographic than a 20-something vegan and are as apt to vote right as left.
They could have proven the same thing by biking through Chicago or Detroit or Baltimore or quite a few other places right here.
Sometimes reality hits hard...
