We voted that way years ago and it never happened.
If you cant read English then you dont know enough to vote in the United States.
BTW, this is one area where Mexico is way ahead of the US. Every ballot there is printed in Spanish.
The Pew Hispanic Center found that about 48 percent of Hispanic voters backed a proposition that designated English as Arizonas official language, while 41 percent voted to re-elect Sen. Jon Kyl, R-Ariz., who made illegal immigration a central campaign issue.
Of course, the judges said no after it passed.
Why not?
Same thing with prop 187 in CA back in the 90s. It won big, would have put an end to tax paid public services for illegal criminals, but the fed and their CA state co-conspirators burned the ballots and declared CA free victorious election, illegal!
The results of this heavy handed government intrusion can now be seen in every state in the country.
I don’t see the controversy!!
Move to France, become a Citizen (or not) and demand that Government issued materials be printed in not only English, but every other Language under the Sun.
I am of the opinion that a constitutional amendment that establishes American English as the official language for all laws, treaties, court cases and administration of the Federal government, is long past due. The government should be allowed to produce translations where necessary, however the final language of record should any conflict in meaning, translation or interpretation should be based exclusively on the English.
Qualifications for US citizenship require the ability to understand English. Therss no need to provide election materials in any other language.
I have seen election posters in Spanish in LA.
Obviously targeting illegal votes.
Voter ID would reduce the Democrats to a fraction of their size, and might return California to American control again.
Unfortunately, many don't want to become Americans, just live like them.
He is right!
Hope he gets elected!
Well heck, still more common sense popping up in flyover country!
A person can’t meaningfully participate in the public policy arena if they can’t understand the language.
43 years ago NYC was forced to produce billingual ballots in the Bronx, Manhattan and Brooklyn. The problem was...Puerto Ricans. They were American citizens, living in the US and spoke only Spanish.
Just another example of our government at work.
The “Comprehensive Immigration” talking points spouted by Marco Rubio and others call for learning English, paying fines and taxes, etc., as part of the “Path to Citizenship.”
Multilingual ballots are thereby superfluous. Something doesn’t compute.
The Republic reported that 10 of Arizonas 15 countries are
required to provide materials in languages other than English,
**************
Senator McCain really has been a force in the State of Arizona.
...10 of Arizonas 15 countries.....
Citizenship is required for voting.
English is required for citizenship.
No need for ballots in other languages.
