You Freepers were warned about what would happen if we didn't get rid of internal combustion engines and ban fracking ...
Maybe global warming will cause CA to slide in to the ocean putting out their fires.
I’d be more worried if things got real quiet....
It must be the straws and plastic bags!!!
The next big one in California will do a lot more damage than ones in the past or so it seems. There has been a lot of new construction and more people to be killed or injured. It’s kinda fun to see how people react when they experience a shaker. Anything under a 5.7 isn’t worth getting exited. When your chimney falls off the roof and the inside of your house looks like a bomb went off plus it’s hard to walk then you can freek out.
AHHHH! Global warming! From the INSIDE! We’re all gonna DIE!
Over 9. will hit the northwest within the next few months.
Maybe a crack will appear in the earth’s crust and a Volcano formed in the middle of Los Angeles (like that 1980s movie VOLCANO). /s
Man-Bear-Pig wakes . . . .
I live just outside Northern Los Angeles. In the early 90s we have four or five level 6.5 or higher earthquakes in this region.
At the time I was the representative for our 2,400 employee business, at the city Emergency Preparedness planning sessions.
After those quakes the EP community announced that we could expect a level 6.5 earthquake about every two years in the immediate future.
Since then we’ve had zero, and very few near even a 4.5.
The take away from this kind of prediction, as well as hurricane, and tornado predictions, is that you’ll know when they happen, and generally not much before.
Al Gore not withstanding, the planet will probably make it a few more years.
I equate this Ring-of-Fire warning to be similar to the warnings about the dollar about to be destroyed.
After 1000s of such predictions, ONE may actually be lucky enough to come just before a real hit.
1000s of others won’t.
I don’t choose to live my life worrying about such things.
Just because a major earthquake hasn’t happened in decades does not mean it’s not normal. When you look at earthquakes, volcanoes, etc. You have to look at hundreds of years. This writer is clueless.
Bring it, I’m sick of the assholes that don’t know how to use a turn signal.
I know this might sound selfish, but I bet my girlfriend that California would get a chance I can take earthquake in 2018. If it hits, she’s going to think I’m some kind of Genius.
Hit L.A., keep us safe, but scare the pols and illegals and homeless the heck out of here!!!!!! Im bracing.....
If SF falls into the Pacific and pollutes the Pacific Ocean can Mexico, washington, and Oregon sue California?
It is possible that all of these earthquakes are reducing tectonic strain incrementally instead of all at once. Many smaller earthquakes are preferable to a single giant one.
Call Johnny Cash!
CA has been very quiet for the last couple months.
I don’t expect anything.
OR has been more active
The sky is falling, the sky is falling, no THIS TIME we really mean it. /sarc
Has anyone been keeping an eye on the Lost & Found Pets column in the local California papers? :-)
This headline sounds suspiciously like an earthquake conspiracy theory. As if concurrent inter-related events could mean something.
We know that’s impossible here at FR. Concurrent inter-related events are always just coincidences.
