That makes perfect sense to me.
Common sense tells me not to stumble down dark alleys drunk at 2am with money hanging out of my pockets.
As parents we have a responsibility to raise our children with a level of due care. Perhaps the perpetrator overpowered her and reasonable caution was not enough, we don't know, but I agree that being too accepting of an illegal alien disguising himself under a false identity may have contributed to Molly's letting her guard down at a fateful moment.
We all need to remind our children that just because you recognize someone, you have seen them around town, doesn't mean you should trust them. You can be polite, be pleasant but never let your guard down with someone who is basically a stranger.
