Katz legally purchased his firearms .45 caliber and 9mm handguns in Baltimore, Maryland, Jacksonville Sheriff Mike Williams told reporters. He bought them within the past month from a licensed dealer, officials said. Whoa! That makes me think there may be more to the idea this kid just suddenly blew up than "he just suddenly got angry about losing". It sounds more like "premeditated" murder to me.

Only a court-ordered treatment of mental illness prevents one from buying a gun. Somebody going to a doctor and getting some pills to help them calm down or whatever isn’t part of it.
