Levin can make really bad calls on the politics of things, his pathetic cheeerleading of Ted Cruz long after Trump had secured the nomination being a case in point.
That said, his judgement and knowledge on legal and constitutional matters is unsurpassed.

Except when it comes to understanding the meaning of natural born citizen. Interesting thing is, he acknowledged during the campaign that he hadn’t studied the issue that deeply, but it didn’t stop him from insisting Cruz was eligible anyway. I lost most of the respect I had for him after that. The rest was lost when he came on to Free Republic and personally insulted posters because they of their support for Trump. Nasty stuff. The guy’s a loser.

Exactly right. Also, most people don’t know but by the mere fact of being elected to the office, there is no need for a background investigation for clearance purposes, he is immediately granted access. Let’s face it, if Obama had undergone a background investigation, they would have found out that he was not qualified to be president.
Bill Clinton couldn’t have passed a background check, either. Presidency definitely is an example of RHIP.
I’ve been hard on Levin. He was a vicious anti-Trumper.
