A newly released poll by Quinnipiac University finds the governor's race between Ron DeSantis and Andrew Gillum virtually tied, with Tallahassee Mayor Gillum supported by 50 percent of likely voters and U.S. Rep. DeSantis by 47 percent. The Aug. 30 – Sept. 3 poll of 785 likely Florida voters (MoE +/- 4.3 percent) found men backing DeSantis over Gillum, 52 percent to 45, and women preferring Gillum, 56 percent to 43 percent.

"Mayor Andrew Gillum came out of his upset victory in the Florida Democratic primary with a head of steam," said Peter A. Brown, assistant director of the Quinnipiac University Poll.

how many illegals are voting in FL and what is being done to prevent it? That will determine the winner!

It may have some truth for this moment in time. The campaign has not yet begun in earnest. Gilliam got a lot of publicity with his surprise win. Out of nowhere. I don’t doubt he has higher name rec today. The polls may be skewed but may just represent the past 7 days of news.

Let me guess, I bet if polls like these were conducted in East Germany in about 1988, they’d find more women preferred the Berlin Wall to be kept in place as opposed to tearing it down.

Even if this nutcase Gillum gets elected, he won’t have any power. Florida governors aren’t much more than cheerleaders for the state.

The real power is in the legislature...........

While on one hand I might say it’ss absurd to think that Florida would elect a socialist, on the other hand I only have to recall that barky won Florida twice...
Just sayin...

What you are seeing is a massive push to use jimmied polls now to try to shape the election, as in 2016. Florida should be about D+1.5, but all the new registrations are R.

Baris, who is a Floridian, is not to complimentary about this and the other “Gillum up” polls.

The more people get to know about Gilliam the more they will dislike him. Raising taxes in Florida isn’t going to go over very well with most voters.

Maybe the fakers should consider A) Gillum is under FBI investigation for corruption B) He bragged about being funded by Soros and C) he wants to tax tourist hotels but still can’t explain where the money to bring Venezuelan socialism.

DeSantis wins 60/40 unless Gillum is arrested then it goes to 65/35 FDeSantis. This one was over on Election night.

They have nothing but fake polls and they are going insane.

Tampa Bay Times, once known as St. Petersburg Times, is and always has been a very left-leaning paper, so their bias is very much in evidence here.

Hard to believe that a person who is at the moment an unindicted co-conspirator in the mess that is the Tallahassee city government, should be so far up in the polls. Less surprising is that the major support is coming from out of state, largely George Soros and Tom Steyer, two billionaires who may properly be called “malefactors of great wealth”.

“Impeach Trump” is the subtext of Gillum’s campaign.

Yep. Watch what the pols do, not what the *polls* say.

Case in point, 2016. Polling said, "No way Trump carries the Rust Belt". My home state was "a tossup".

Trump spent plenty of time in both, including parts of my state never seen by a presidential candidate, except out a window from 30,000 feet. And, he carried both, and my state by a fair margin.

I hope it’s fake, because if not, I am so ashamed of my sex. If women want to be taken seriously, they have to learn how to think critically. There is no future in voting Democrat. It leads to poverty, eventually Venezuela socialism hell, tyranny, and death.

Absolutely absurd. No matter how much they try to push the dem machine— it will break over— jobs and treatment of workers and people.... and over the FOREIGN influence of a race-baiting world socialist and his money behind a corrupt leftist grifting mayor.

Hispanic women (who don’t talk to pollsters btw)-don’t think so!!
Black women?
Will split between gibsmedat welfare queens andthe Diamond and Silk business owners—real employers and self employed— who know what gillum is.

White women? There is nothing gillum has to say to working moms, stay at home moms, and single mothers other than handouts and no help at all— constant staying in the same place.

Hispanic men-— simple-— no way, period. There is a complexion factor in this— and relates to the “machine”—and also especially a religion factor. Practicing Christian men— period- no way for Gillum.
