Have you seen any kids playing outside in the past ten years? They are inside, on their phones and video games. This “for the churdrin” plea should have gone out with Jocelyn Elders, who made it famous during the Clinton administration, where she was Sturgeon General.
Well, gee. Do you suppose that children’s happiness might be a tad lowered by being harped at by leftists in school all day?

Smartphones and video games are ruining childhood.
Kids aren’t playing outside because of incessant nanny-state bullying that threatens parents with negligence if the kid is out of their sight for any length of time, plus the constant media drumbeat of worry over child molestors (another leftist pastime, apparently), despite the actual rate of attacks on kids having dropped considerably since the 70s and 80s. The whole video games/electronics thing is just a symptom of the above, since the kid now has nothing else to do.

Five years ago, a new Christ centered outdoor adventure organization for Boys was founded. It’s called Trail Life USA.
Growth has been staggering. There are a number of reasons for that but one is certainly that parents instinctively realize that their sons are not outdoors enough.
We had an open house recruiting event this week. One of my power point slides featured Pajama Boy on one side, the other side was one of our guys navigating a climbing wall and another photo of a five year old firing a BB gun for the first time.
And if history is any guide, mom and dad will receive a visit from Child Protective Services toute suite.
