That sounds about right, 1980 or so.
I haven’t watched, nor WILL I EVER watch that S Show. Only the LIV idiots would waste their time on that crap.

Don’t forget it was Andy Dick who went drug binging with Phil Hartman’s wife.

Interesting tidbit from that link showing how the political winds have changed the show:
Re: Rage Against the Machine - “the rockers hung upside down American flags from their gear. Crew members stepped in to remove both the flags and the band from the stage,”
Nowadays, they would be hailed for such an unAmerican gesture.

Id have to say, that after the first two years, it went downhill, Chase said.”

There are some funny people in the cast. But the writing is so singled minded that even if it was funny it would get tiring after a few minutes.

I’m not sure what tweaked these kids, but it seems like something did.

Yes. I hadnt realized that until I saw a special on comedians who had died. One of the commenters was very upset that Andy Dick was commenting on Hartmans death. I had no idea that the murderer had been partying with Dick before the murder.

I live over in Glendale, and I know that area of Encino enough to picture where his home was. I think we both had about the same reaction. What a shame... Id rank him among the top ten comedians Ive enjoyed. If he did slip below ten it wasnt by much, and certainly above 20th.
Phil Hartman as Frank Sinatra on SNL is one of my all-time favorites.

I listened to the NatLamp radio show when it was on. Something to do. Also the King Biscuit Flour hour. Ah, spent youth...

After Belushi and Ackroyd left there were a couple of good people...Mile Myers and Eddie Murphy coming quickly to my mind. But IMO the first four seasons were classics...the rest,no thanks.

You mean Garrett Morris? Still remember his appearance in E.R.
Never really got SNL, and Rosanna Arquette killed any chance of me tuning in again.
To: Calvin Locke
Yes Garrett. Thanks. Didn’t realize he appeared in E.R.

I believe it was Jon Lovitz that said a Dick, Phil and wife, etc, were at a Christmas party, and Dick, knowing Phil’s wife was a recovering coke head, cajoled her into doing some lines.
That was all she needed to fall off the wagon, and eventually ending up doing what she did.
Lovitz blamed Dick for Phil’s death, but that didn’t stop Lovitz from taking Hartman’s place on “News Radio” along side original cast member Andy Dick.
