At least one defender of President Donald Trump‘s Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh believes it won’t be long until the embattled judge is exonerated of wrongdoing and confirmed to his post. Kavanaugh has, of course, been named by Dr. Christine Blasey Ford as the person who attempted to sexually assault her at a party in high school.
Kavanaugh has categorically denied this and we are still waiting to see what will happen with a hearing that was scheduled to take place before the Senate Judiciary Committee on Monday. Ford and her legal team have requested an FBI investigation of her allegation in advance of a hearing.
Irrespective of all the hearing speculation, Ed Whelan, the president of conservative think tank the Ethics and Public Policy Center (EPPC), made a bold prediction on Twitter that “compelling evidence” would exonerate Kavanaugh next week.
“By one week from today [it was Sept. 18] I expect that Judge Kavanaugh will have been clearly vindicated on this matter. Specifically, I expect that compelling evidence will show his categorical denial to be truthful,” Whelan tweeted on Tuesday. “There will be no cloud over him.”

Difficult to prove a negative. Unless they have emails of DiFi specifically trying to set up some sort of last minute surprise and not being particular about the nature of it. “Lie if you have to, but I need you talking to the press. Can you do that for me?”

Ed Whelan has always seemed like a reputable guy. Hard to believe he’d make a claim like this unless he knows something If the plan is to let the left thoroughly discredit itself by hitching their wagons to Dr Blasey only to pull the rug out from under them a week later, I like it.
She is saying she fears for her life, the Senator needs to take her at her word and send US Marshals to pick her up and bring her directly to the hearing.

That's what I have been thinking.
Remember, this event allegedly occurred on summer break so Kavanaugh may have been back packing in Europe ( and did not have access at the time to an SR-71 like GHW Bush did) or fly fishing in Alaska.
He may even have been working as a foreign aid worker helping at risk children, which would be hilarious to watch in the hearing.
my arguments stand on their own and do not depend on my personally attesting to his character.It is telling that he says "arguments" as opposed to "corroborating statements" (from others who may say that Kavanaugh didn't drink in HS or something of similar nature) or "evidence" (pointing to the idea that the accuser might be confusing Kavanaugh with someone else or indicating that Kavanaugh could not have been at said "gathering").
WTH could Whelan mean by "arguments"?

I expect more stupid drama... because delay and spin is what this all appears to be about at this point
