It’s not Grassley. It’s the squishes - Flake, Murkowski and Collins. He needs 2 out of 3. If he doesn’t get it, there’s no point in holding a vote.

Harry Reid's legacy is that he lost the Senate. And his retirement coincided with the election of Donald Trump. That guy will go down in history as one of the biggest failures in U.S. political history.

He even lost a fight with an exercise machine, for crying out loud. :-P

Right in the comments the libtards are trashing him. If the Repubs think this will earn them any brownie points they’re retarded.

There are 51 GOP senators. If there were 61, we wouldn’t be in this position.

Nope. If there were 71 GOP Senators we would be in this position. The Senate GOP has never shown an interest in being anything other than the doormat of the Democrat party. Where are the “conservative” lions of the Senate now? Answer: they are quiet as lambs.

I’m pretty much now completely convinced that this is all being done by sympathetic colleagues to cover for an Alzheimer-addeled Di Fi.

Very astute observation. The clubby Senate GOP loyalty is to their “friends” across the aisle. Not those who elected them or the GOP MAGA platform of POTUS. So right now they are busy trying to save her progressive behind instead of respecting the will of GOP voters and representing those who elected them.

That is the vote on the committee to release it for a vote on the floor. There might be some rule that you have to wait X number of days -I think it is 3- before a floor vote is allowed

“Grassley extends deadline for Kavanaugh accuser to decide on testifying”

Grassley has drawn another red line. And ran away from it again.

Grassley must think he banking points. He's gathering contempt from all that know about this.

He's weaker than Jeb Bush.

Maybe he read Trump’s book. The Art of Trolling!

It sure would spice up Grassley's life if he acquired some of Trump's fighting personality.

Grassley looked like he was on his last leg during the confirmation hearings.

I lay the blame for there NOT being 50 locked in yes votes for Kavanaugh from the GOP Caucus directly at the feet of the wimpy Senate Majority Leader, Mitch McConnell!!

He has an aversion to enforcing party discipline on major legislation and his unwillingness at playing hardball with RINO’s like Corker, Collins and Flake on major votes like the Kavanaugh Confirmation!

Spot on. Anybody bucking the Dem party line in a big Capitol Hill battle would be castrated. McConnell is Majority Leader specifically because he allows the “Maverick” cats to wander when they chose. They would have never elected him speaker if he had enforced party discipline to favor POTUS.

Pence is all over the country working. Where do you think he should be? He cannot do much about this situation.

They weren’t doormats concerning Scalia and Gorsuch. The problem is that there are at least 3 weak Senators who might vote no if they don’t get their way, and they’re running the show right now.

The obvious answer here is to threaten to withdraw GOPe boy Kavanaugh and replace him with a MAGA nom. Trump is playing ball with the beltway GOP nominating W.’s boy and they are spitting in our faces in return.

Trump can destroy the GOP if he wishes with one tweet on his phone. It seems those GOP careerists who have been in the beltway sewer too long have no clue how close they are to destroying the party of Lincoln.

Not enough time for the Wednesday deadline. *Some* due diligence is required and the optics are bad if they nominate someone and he turns to be the second coming of Abe Fortas. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Abe_Fortas

Flake employs illegals at his Arizona ranch. Surely McConnell could remind Flake that once he leaves the Senate this January that there is NOTHING stopping FedGov from looking into his ranch’s business activity!!! Like I said McConnell is UNWILLING to play hardball with NeverTrump RINO’s!

Fox News also said that it was "unclear."
