She already said she would testify if her demamds were met. This was supposed to be will you testify with what we’ve offered so the answer is no. This, ladies and gentlemen, is how the party would be run if Flake were leading it. Make no mistake about it. He, Collins and Murkowski are leading these “negotiations” from the GOPe side and Grassley has to take all the blame.
She did not agree to testify. She agree to further negotiations. This is clearly just another delay tactic. Grassley needs to quit playing their games. They should have held the vote on schedule last week.
This is not news. She was expected to testify.
Grassley has said that her more unreasonable demands cannot be met. What more is there to negotiate?

If she testifies, here’s what I think she’s thinking: this is a replay of Anita Hill against Clarence Thomas. Hill didn’t stop the confirmation of Thomas, but she did come out of the hearings very nicely. Her career blossomed. She is now a professor at a prestigious university and a feminist icon who can sell books and command major fees for her speeches. It was all upside for Anita Hill. And if Ford does testify she will likely reap the same rewards. Or at least she expects to. And why not? The Dems and the left will certainly reward her for destroying a man’s reputation, and attempting to keep him off the SC. As with Anita Hill, there is no downside. It’s all upside.
She’ll testify on term to be worked out. Translation - she’ll dictate the terms on a take it or leave it basis, and the Republicans will fold. There is a bright side - her story is weak for all to see, and Kav will be able to testify for all to see.
Assuming she allows Kav to be able to rebut. So far, she demands that she go last.

I’m skeptical. Something will happen. Ford gets sick or wet feet at the last minute. Changing the rules at the last minute. Screaming female hordes in pink pussy caps will disrupt the proceedings. Maybe even bomb threats. Ford doesn’t want to talk under oath.
