Attorneys for Ford and aides to Senate Judiciary Chairman Chuck Grassley are said to have reached a tentative agreement for the professor to testify Thursday during a “brief” phone call on Saturday and plan to speak again Sunday to flesh out additional details of her testimony.
Members of Sen. Dianne Feinstein’s (D-CA) staff were also a part of Saturday’s negotiations.
“Negotiations could still falter over those details, which include who will question the woman, Christine Blasey Ford. But in tentatively agreeing to a Thursday hearing, Republicans made a significant concession that suggested they were working to ensure that the session occurred after several days of uncertainty,” the New York Times reports.

Well, if nothing else this has been good for GOP polling. Looks like 2 House races have been pulled out of tossup status and put in the GOP win column.
No, she won’t. She won’t testify on Thursday or any other day. They’re just stringing along the GOP suckers. In a few days, her lawyers will announce that she needs another delay, impose new conditions, etc etc. It’s all a ruse.
Each one of Grassley’s stumbles has been worse than the last. Why doesn’t he just hand over the chair to Fineswine until this is over since it appears he does not want to be in charge?
This whole episode shows that there needs to an age limit. No one over 65 allowed to serve.
The Anita Hill sham was better plotted. The “harassment over time” story allowed for lots of creative storytelling.
Ford’s plot-line is a quick groping on a bed in a room in high school. It shouldn’t take more than sixty seconds to tell that tale, and if she adds details to dramatize it she runs the risk of giving details that could investigated and expose her to perjury.
Unless she plans to act it out with puppets, it will be a nothingburger.

Her handlers know that, which is why she won't show. Not a problem, though, if the Repubs are smart enough to schedule an afternoon vote.

Well, I don't see how this can be considered anything but a cowardly cave at this point. Hoped they'd stick with a Monday deadline, but if they've agreed to move her 'scheduled' testimony to Thursday, and they are still negotiating the details, then it's nothing but a ridiculous cave in to ridiculous demands.
Grassley may be playing this brilliantly. He may even let this run all the way to Election Day ... and not out of incompetence or weakness, either.
This whole issue is completely removed from the Democrats as a political weapon as long as Christine Buzzy Ford stalls the process indefinitely. In fact, she's doing great damage to the Democrats as we sit here now.
If this process drags on and: (1) Ford doesn't show up to testify; and (2) the confirmation vote is held up indefinitely while goobers like Flake and Corker keep saying "we must hear from her" ... then Christine Buzzy Ford can't make any media appearances to tell her fake story in a venue that doesn't expose her to perjury charges.
They've probably got taped interviews of her all lined up -- produced by the Democrat propaganda machine and ready to be shown on 60 Minutes, the Today show, Loser Holt's Dateline NBC, etc. She's had extensive cosmetic surgery, cries on cue, and puts on a good show. They probably have about four hours of video clips, which they prepared for the purpose of putting no more than the best 20 minutes on the air.
But they can only put it out to attack Kavanaugh AFTER he is confirmed ... and they can't put it out AT ALL if she testifies under oath.
