I didn’t know she was in charge of the FBI as well as the Senate. Silly me.
I doubt Ford said this. She might not even have asked for the FBI to investigate. While she was “testifying” to the Senate, she said she had no idea the Senate Commission had said they could come to California to hear her. I assume her lawyers don’t bother to inform her.

tough. The investigation began this evening and it will stop when it’s finished in 3 days or so. A non-cooperative accuser, who has already been provided time to tell her story, has no choice in the matter.

Well, as someone that has conducted Sexual Assault investigations, and admittedly not being the nations leading expert, I DO NOT EVER remember a time when the “alleged victim” dictated to me how the investigation would be conducted and how long it would take. In this case, she’s already provided all the witnesses that need to be interviewed.
Unfortunately for her, names that she dropped in support of her allegations will be interviewed wherever they live. Meaning that if one of her “witnesses” is in Seattle and they refuse to come to DC for an interview, they will be interviewed by FBI Agents from the Seattle field office. Sucks for them. And by the way, lack of cooperation on the part of the “victim” and “witnesses” is the quickest way to close out any investigation. And let us not forget about, 18 USC 1001. Especially on the part of the husband and the other witnesses, that weren’t really witnesses. It’ll take a good interviewer about 3 minutes to get through that.
I’d encourage the FBI, in their effort to be as thorough as possible, to interview every member of the PGA Tour for their investigation. Might provide some useful information.
Today is Saturday. Call the damn vote on Friday. Let all Senators live with their vote!

nope. they’ve already said ONLY the victim can initiate an investigation, and even if she does so now, the statute of limitations on her “charge” was one year, so 35 years too late
