Dems are trying to make ‘healthcare’ a problem GOP, but THEY are the ones who gave us Obamacare

Non-Issue: In recent weeks, you may have begun to hear Democratic attack ads aimed at bashing Republicans over their stances on “healthcare.” Whether the ad claims GOP candidates want to “take away coverage for preexisting conditions” or “make health care more expensive,” Democrats cannot escape the fact that they, not Republicans, own the disaster that is the current state of U.S. healthcare delivery and financing.

Democrats cannot escape the fact that they... own the disaster that is the current state of U.S. healthcare delivery...

By design. 'Rats MO is to create the disaster for which they, so conveniently, happen to have the perfect solution for.

Which, when put in place makes another disaster... only worse.

Rinse, lather, repeat...

Failure to cover preexisting conditions is going to bite the GOP if they don’t come up with some sort of an answer - it’s one of the few things most people liked about Obamacare - it was a scam, requiring young people who didn’t need much insurance to buy it at outrageous prices so their money could be used to cover the preexisting illness of others, but at least it was coverage - in most cases people can still get the coverage, but they pay much higher premiums since the youngsters aren’t being charged any longer - in making a big fuss about ending Obamacare the ‘pubs put themselves on the line for also eliminating preexisting coverage - there are ways to achieve the same ends - state subsidiaries, assigned risk pools and all - but the GOP had better start talking them up.....

My Obamacare tax increased $10,000 per year under Obamacare and that is for crappy insurance.

Well, it wasn’t by any assist by the (R), whom have blatantly LIED to their base and the voting public re: repeal of O’Care (couldn’t pass any of the PRIOR 6+ bills when they were in the minority. *Queue my ‘surprised’ face*).

Nor did they do anything up to the passage by pointing out Fedzilla has ZERO authority in the matters of h’care. Nothing by A1S8, 9th/10th. And DEF. not by the 4th/5th/13th via economic slavery of welfare via ‘subsidies’...or, like the ‘min wage’ the entering\obligation of contracts.

Nope. The Uniparty rides again, ‘cept NOW they’ve given up $1T deficits, non-wall funding (not DE-funding PP/NPR/NEA/etc.)

Boy, if it weren’t for the (D) stepping on their own d*, I can’t see a dime’s worth of difference (”Oh, but SCOTUS”....3rd arm of the ‘you scratch mine...’ anti-Constitution, pro-Fedzilla oligarchy Congress refused to reign in).

It used to be called CHARITY. You freely gave to help those in need. It was voluntary, not forced. Then the left decided to force it.

Those with preexisting conditions and a lot of the healthy young people would just pay the penalty for not having the insurance; way cheaper than buying the insurance. Then they were covered by all of us.

Continuous coverage for preexisting conditions could be used to defray the premium increase. Lapses in coverage would increase the increase.

And I have a preexisting condition.

People with preexisting conditions prior to Obamacare could not get insurance without having group employee coverage.
If they had any assets at all, their assets were seized if they could not pay their medical bills. However, the losers of the world could get away with not paying medical bills because there were no assets to seize. Lack of insurance always hit the middle class with preexisitng conditions.
Obamacare ruined coverage in my state of Washington. Insurance was required to cover people with preexisting conditions if they had no lapse in insurance coverage. If I got laid off, and Cobra ended, all insurance companies in this state were required to accept you even if you had preexisting conditions. The coverage was quite reasonably priced.
When Ocare came into effect, all that got thrown away. Now, insurance is expensive with $7000 deductibles, which is a catastrophic policy.
All Obamacare did was stick it to the middle class, because it was an expansion of Medicaid. Heroin abusers, lowlifes all get great coverage. The rest of us are paying the cost and delaying care.

How did pre-existing conditions get covered prior to Obamacare?

Apparently in many instances people with preexisting conditions couldn’t get coverage at all, or had to pay outrageously high premiums on their coverage to defray the added costs the insurance companies knew they were taking on in writing the coverage - at least that’s what the big cry was in selling Obamacare - the analogy was always “you can’t wait to get homeowner’s insurance when your house is on fire - either you won’t get any or you’ll pay through the nose for the coverage” - apparently buying through a group plan or pool coverage would help lower the cost, but it was still disproportionately high compared to what Obamacare produced.....

That's misleading. There are/were various federal and state (and even local) healthcare programs to provide assistance. Plus you have numerous charity groups and orgs.

or had to pay outrageously high premiums on their coverage to defray the added costs the insurance companies knew they were taking on in writing the coverage

These premiums are high due to government intervention in the health-care market in the form of subsidies and regulations.

Pre-existing conditions is a red-herring.

Which is why the Democrats are not running on Obamacare per se. They are running on GOP attempts to do away the popular parts of Obamacare, like coverage for pre-existing conditions. And there’s not a lot the GOP can do to rebut them on that. McCaskill has been hammering Hawley on that for weeks and the best Hawley can say is that of course he supports coverage for pre-existing conditions, even though he hasn’t the faintest idea how to do it.

The GOP hasn't been able to come up with a coherent replacement in the eight or nine years Obamacare has been around. You expect them to do that in two weeks?

Pre-existing conditions is a red-herring...uh huh - I don't know how few of anything it takes to turn an issue into a red-herring, but the latest Fox News Poll shows that the most important topic to most voters in the upcoming election is healthcare, ahead of the economy, terrorism, and even Trump - with 58% saying it's most important to them - and the great majority of these think the 'rats would do a better job of handling healthcare than the 'pubs - and the heart of every 'rat healthcare TV ad I've seen seems to be some poor soul with some preexisting medical condition who is having trouble finding affordable insurance after Obamacare - I just hope for the GOP's sake most of those red-herrings just stay home and don't vote in November......

They even had Fox News on the radio today code in these fake polls showing Health Care’s in their born issue. Stupid jerks. Everyone knows immigration and deep State corruption are key issues right now.
