U.S. Mobilizes Over 5,200 Troops to Southern Border in Security Operation.
On Monday, October 29, 2018 the U.S. Air Force released the first video of C-17 Globemaster III and C-130 Hercules tactical transport aircraft deploying with full-time U.S. military troops to the United States/Mexico border in support of Operation Faithful Patriot. The video shows units of the 3rd Airlift Squadron of Dover Air Force Base and 61st Airlift Squadron of Little Rock, Arkansas loading cargo and personnel at Fort Knox, Kentucky.
According to an official statement, U.S. Northern Command General Terrence J. OShaughnessy told media that Operation Faithful Patriot is deploying regular, full-time U.S. military units to the region, To harden the southern border. The arrival of regular military units will augment National Guard units and U.S. Customs and Border Patrol operations already in the southern frontier region.
Units shown in the video include the Headquarters Company of the 89th Military Police Brigade. It is likely the Headquarters Company of the 89th Military Police has been forward-deployed prior to the arrival of other elements of the unit as an advanced party to establish logistics in the region prior to the arrival of the remaining unit.

NOW I know this is not just optics.
This is feeling more real.
This could be Trumps FINEST hour..!
Now there's a smile that will last all day.
USAF Ping.
C-17s and Hercs. Well, they weren't going to walk 1000 miles to the border...
The son of outrageously liberal relatives flies C130s for the USAF. Maybe he’s involved in this border protection activity. :)
If these troops are going to be successful in stopping these “Invasions”, they are going to have to do it on Mexican Soil. The U.S. should try and negotiate an agreement with Mexico for Joint Forces at least 25 Miles inside Mexico. In the absence of an agreement with Mexico, we should go it alone, as I don’t believe we can be effective and avoid U.S. Court Action against our policy trying to stop them from our side of the border. The Panama and Grenada Incursions offer examples of what we can do.
Absolutely correct.
One good thing about the troop movement, is that it gives our forces increased practice in airlifting troops and supplies. Almost like a training deployment.

A SOFA you suggest would take months to negotiate. If we are going to occupy the border towns we should just do it. It is easy. I personally witnessed US Army MPs patrolling with the empty holster PDF in Panama.
"But we weren't INVITED..!!!"
SO WHAT..?
Again:
SO WHAT.
Sure we had the capability.
BUT WE HAD **THE WILL**.
First Armored Division is stationed at Fort Bliss in El Paso too. Just a ten minute drive down the freeway from the border.
God keep these troops safe.
Yeah, we did it. YUP.
I agree with most of what you said, but A SOFA Agreement is not what I envisioned. A simple temporary agreement to join forces on Mexican soil until the threat is eliminated could be accomplished between the two Presidents as a national Emergency affecting both Nations.
The perspective I prefer is this:
We saw a violent mob resisted by Mexican police at their southern border. We saw a non-Mexican force overwhelm them, physically remove barriers and invade Mexico.
What kind of neighbor can we call ourselves if we don’t assist our neighbor in dealing with the invaders who used force to invade them..?
My question is how many Hondurans will fit into a C-130?
The death of four at Kent State helped the underminers dishonor the deaths of over 50,000 patriots in Vietnam.
Be ready for collateral damage and Benedict Arnold, Jane Fonda etc. Real life is the next one. Happy Reformation Day!
