Rule 1. Treat all guns as if they are always loaded. Rule 2. Never let the muzzle cover anything that you are not willing to destroy.
I hope now that this is out that this idiot's Sergeant catches up with him. Caught at the time and the guy would be on the ground curled up in a fetal position, then some extra instruction and then restricted duties unless or until he was court martialed.
