This week’s edition of Saturday Night Live’s Weekend Update served as a sequel of sorts to last week’s episode. Pete Davidson followed up on his insult of newly-elected Congressman Dan Crenshaw by bringing the politician on to the show to get his revenge and share a serious message about respecting veterans.
Crenshaw, a Republican politician and military veteran who lost his eye in Afghanistan in 2012, had been targeted by Davidson as part of SNL’s midterms preview. Davidson mocked the politician’s injury, saying he looked like a “hitman in a porno.” Davidson had quickly added, “I’m sorry, I know he lost his eye in war or whatever.” This week, in the wake of Crenshaw’s election to represent Texas’ 2nd Congressional District, Davidson was sincerely apologetic, saying, “In what I’m sure was a huge shock for people who know me, I made a bad choice last week.”

In the past year my 29 year old son, who was a college product turned the corner and no longer feels he is blinded by the liberal normalcy peddled in college and elementary schooling. He now tells me everyday that the only people peddling hate in America are liberals and democrats who call everyone names and it took Trump to slay political correctness to open his eyes. Kids today are seeing the double standards clearly.

I hope and pray that my 21 year old son, who was indoctrinated by Colbert and Stewart along with his liberal friends and professors, comes around like your son. He is graduating college this year and will have to live in the “real world”. The family unit is set up to be a socialist environment where we pay for their housing, health care, and necessities. Once he is on own, I hope this shocks him into reality.

I’m glad t hear that, but 29 is hardly a “kid”. Maybe by today’s standards, but 29 is a fully grown, mature adult...and has been for almost 10yrs, in my view.

Me thinks Cranshaw demeaned himself by appearing on the crap show.
