The media will use press conferences as a means to relentlessly accuse and insult the President. They see it as their opportunity to goad the President into losing control, so they can say he is unfit for the office. The press pit has become a pit of vipers.

Reigned in? DC failed to say ‘reined’ in. No evidence of editing or proof-reading. This sloppiness is very unprofessional, and I admit it makes me a little crazy!
There is no Constitutional requirement for these circuses called WH press conferences! End them! We’ve convinced our selves we need something like “Prime Minister Question Time” in the UK parliament. We do it because we want to be “stylish” like the Brits!
Let the press (actually anyone!)submit questions, the press office hands out answers on a DVD with a paper summary. Additionally have it all downloadable, accessible by anyone from the WH web site. Then the networks can spend all the TV time they want discussing how unfair it is and how the public can’t possibly understand any of the questions and answers without their press “media stars” to explain it. Also this will have the effect of enabling “other discussions” independent of the networks like on youtube, etc. Discussions where it will be much more difficult for the networks to impose a monolithic view of the questions & answers.
It will also be a good way to reach out to the “millennials”, what comes after them. This crowd every year gets larger and subsequently every year pays less attention to the networks & MSM.
To do this would be a quantum tunneling around the networks using modern technology. The networks & MSM will look so “last millennium yesterday’s news”. Doing this would be very bold! Very Trumpian (and wouldn’t cost much either!)
