Our Election Fiascoes Are Not Due to Incompetence
Ricochet ^ | 11/12/18 | Dr. Bastiat

Nearly a week after the election ended in most of the country, it continues in Broward County, Florida. The Republicans won the first vote, but the Democrats are getting ever closer with each subsequent recount. This is the same Broward County that kept recounting votes in the Bush / Gore Presidential election. Bush won the first vote, and every subsequent recount, but (surprise!) the gap got narrower every time the votes were recounted. Every recount ended up with a better result for the Democrat. Every time.

That’s a concerning coincidence. But what’s more concerning is that nobody was surprised. The media openly speculated whether this next recount would be enough to put Gore over the top – it never occurred to anybody that the next recount might result in more Republican votes. This casual presumption of voter fraud is scarier to me than the voter fraud itself...

I am of the firm belief that we need to return to old fashioned election procedures. No more Mail in Ballots. No more early voting. Everybody must vote in person on election date with the only exception being Military Personnel stationed overseas which must have their ballot in the mail and received by Election Date. All ballots must be counted and recorded with the respective Secretary of State by Midnight of the Election day. Maybe I am tilting at windmills, but wouldn’t this help to eliminate all the fraud and confusion?

The problem here is the same problem as Florida 2000, and many elections since.

The two parties understand “voting” and “elections” very differently. As soon as David Boies pled “voter intent” to overcome mere arithmetical counting of votes as the thing that conferred legitimacy, the America that existed before was over.

The current Democrat position is the same as the French revolutionaries, which is that voting is merely one of a number of popular demonstrations to support the General Will, which is superior to all popular demonstrations, INCLUDING VOTING.

This logic was further developed in Lenin’s 1902 work What Is To Be Done?, which was basically plagiarized 102 years later by Thomas Frank in What’s the Matter With Kansas?.

What it all amounts to is that, since the working class is suffering from False Consciousness, that when the Left wins elections, false consciousness has been overcome, but when they lose, the result is invalid because mere arithmetical counting of votes cannot truly reflect the will, or the intent, of the majority.

This is what we are dealing with now. The bureaucracy, the Deep State, the Permanent Government, whatever you want to call it, is no longer able to be turned out by voting, because they do not accept an adverse result and have the will and the means to resist.

They have the power and the intent to prevent our winning, so if we are to prevail, it will have to be by means other than elections.

This casual presumption of voter fraud is scarier to me than the voter fraud itself...

What is scarier to me is that, in the face of clear statutory violations, the Broward County sheriff is doing ... nothing. The FDLE is doing ... nothing. The FL Sos is doing ... very little that I can see. And the MSM is ignoring relevant facts and spinning this all as a right-wing conspiracy. And they all feel they can get away with it with impunity - and the more I see, the more I hate to admit they are probably right.

When so many institutions have been corrupted, democracy no longer dies in darkness. It is instead stolen in broad daylight.

“...DEMOCRATS ARE LYING CHEATERS and KILLERS!...”

And they are that way because NOBODY holds them accountable.

There should be severe legal consequences for anyone proven guilty of vote tampering. Ten years solitary confinement in a federal prison and confiscation of assets would stop this illegal activity.

I doubt if it would eliminate ALL fraud and confusion, but it would go a long way to limiting it by cutting down on the time the cheaters would have to ‘fix’ things.

One just has to look at our history. Tammany Hall in NY, the Dailey machine in Chicago, the Hague regime in Jersey City, the Pendergast operation in Kansas City. etc. Voter fraud is the Dem MO. It is a threat to our Republic. We will lose this country thru the ballot box.

We are going to win this one.

Broward already said they can’t meet the Thurs deadlines so in essence they are screwed.

Good.

Maybe they figured Scott would fold like most Rs.

But more Rs are showing courage with Trump as president.

That’s a good thing.

Just look at Linda. She’s turning into a man.

Almost.

I know some people who immigrated here LEGALLY from third-world countries. They are stunned by the lax security of our ballots.

Even back home in the jungle they did the purple finger thing.

"Our Election Fiascoes Are Not Due to Incompetence "

I agree 100% with that.. it has been an ongoing plan for the past 5+ decades, and it appears that it has almost reached the goal.

I hope that since we have something besides a politician in office (POTUS), that this ongoing problem will be set right.... I sit here every day hoping for the slime to be ousted. At least, when I was young (early 70s), the corruption was not so obvious, I am thankful that it is pretty much exposed now for the populace to see though (even though the LSM tried to bury/hide it).

Fingers crossed that a positive end will come from all of this cr@p.

"I am of the firm belief that we need to return to old fashioned election procedures [emphasis added]."

The Founding States smartly gave the power to elect federal senators uniquely to the state legislatures, not to ordinary voters. So we need to repeal the ill-conceived 17th Amendment, the “broomstick of the wicked witch (Soros).”

The 16th Amendment can disappear too.

The writer knows zero, I work there! The writer is wrong on many counts...First off the ballot was six pages long both sides in many areas....There are exactly 30 cities in all of Broward County which is 1,323 sq miles of land and water.61.13% of the registered voters bothered to vote at all. Per SOE where I work.Besides the folks running for jobs there were 14 Constitutional changes and 12 County changes to its constitution all included on the ballot designed by the Supervisor of elections thats dumb. If all who voted did so thru a as200 ballot Scanner that amounts to 4,277,040 pieces of paper. Each Pct at close does a computer run n 2 copies 1 to driver who picks up the equipment and the second carried by the Clerk of the PCT is there private car with seals attached on all bags 4-8 bags per pct.....Well I shall enlighten you this election as of the last announcement 712,840 people voted in Broward County at six (6) pages both sides that amounts to 4 million,277 thousand and forty pages of ballot form....in a county of 1, 843,152 people.....of which 593,540 are registered democrats, 252 thousand and twenty three are registered Republicans and three hundred twenty eight thousand eight hundred and sixty eight no party affiliation,,,,,,,,the people count who voted were increased by close to 50% overall...AND YOU DO REALIZE THERE ARE 608 Polling Locations in Broward County....an all cites had questions on the ballotts that were for that city alone....so as you can see this is a huge undertaking....
