A person must be a U.S. citizen in order to register and vote.
A person who submits valid proof of citizenship with his or her voter registration form (regardless of the type of form submitted) is entitled to vote in all federal, state, county and local elections in which he or she is eligible. The voter registration form otherwise must be sufficiently complete.
A person is not required to submit proof of citizenship with the voter registration form, but failure to do so means the person will only be eligible to vote in federal elections (known as being a “federal only” voter). A “federal only” voter will become eligible to vote a “full ballot” in all federal, state, county and local elections if he or she later provides valid proof of citizenship to the appropriate County Recorder’s office.

When I first saw someone posted this on Twitter, I thought it was a parody. It is not.
Foreigners are deciding our elections by voting in them.
Just find out who voted and then prosecute. Use the feds if you have to. Blood boil? I don’t have time to get angry on behalf of the party of cowards.

In a world with lawyers it makes perfect sense.
That wording would be so that the law doesn’t conflict with Federal laws or rules, and thus will apply to what the state is able to control.

We know that birth certificates, having no national of international standard format, can be forged.
However, U.S. Passports are difficult to forge.
The standard for voting should require the presentation of a valid U.S. Passport.

AZ doesn’t set the rules for federal elections.

AZ wanted to have proof of citizenship for all votes but the Federal government stopped them. So they at least have it for AZ votes.

I’m sure they have this law because they don’t want themselves to be replaced with Hispanics in the local elections.
So, enquiring minds want to know —- how many “federal only” ballots were cast in Arizona earlier this month?
The vast majority of states don’t require proof of citizenship to vote. All you do is check a box on the registration form to vote that asks if you are a citizen. Kansas is one of the few states that does and it is being challenged in the courts.

Most people don’t have a passport. A birth certificate showing you were born in the US or a naturalization certificate would suffice.
