The IDF destroyed a Hezbollah tunnel that penetrated into Israeli territory south of the Lebanese village of Kfar Kila, the IDF Spokesperson's Unit announced in a statement Tuesday.

What no one foresaw was Hezbollah would take its place. Its now a virtual state in Lebanon.
A Hizballah tunnel was located between Misgav Am and Metulah at the outset of the IDF operation on Tuesday and it is being neutralized. The engineering unit went straight to this tunnel because it had been located in advance by Military Intelligence.
Israel was about to destroy the PLO when RR stopped them and they managed to escape en masse to Tunisia on a cruise ship. Baker showed RR a photo of a dead child and told him it was a Palestinian killed in an IDF attack. RR called Begin and angrily demanded an end to the attacks. (The child was a Druze killed in s PLO attack, as the lying snake Baker knew). Hizbollah butchered our Marines and RR let Caspar halt s planned massive airstrike against their positions.
I met a mining engineering student a couple of years ago. He was from Israel studying over here. I asked him if he had already served his military service - or is that something they do later.

Before my dad passed, he told me how they drove the enemy out of the tunnels/caves during the WWII invasion of Okinawa: Flame throwers.

That kills everything in the tunnel, but the tunnel is still there. My question is how the heck did they build that tunnel in the first place? Only thing I can think of is Israel knew they were building the tunnel, collected as much intelligence as they could on the tools and techniques being used and when the tunnel was complete they moved in.
Let them get in and gas ‘em.
This should never have been announced in the news. The intelligence should have been handed off to the IDF and they should have quietly booby trapped or better yet placed explosives and sensors that could be command detonated when the sensors indicated enemy presence in the tunnels. Interdict the intrusion and bury the bodies at the same time.

Israel needs to make sure that any terror attack against them comes at THE GREATEST POSSIBLE EXPENSE in terms of men and material. They need to make the efforts against them ridiculously wasteful: ensure that every terror mission is a 99.9% certain suicide run, and results will be negligible. Force Hexbollah to operate at a Baghdad Bob level of denial of the obvious: that both their existence and their assaults achieve ZERO.

The modern approach is to use an APC or tank to haul the fuel and spray.
The diesel that runs the thing is mixed with an oxidizer and surfactant and sprayed in.
MY question is this ; Israel is a tiny country with a relatively small population and an economy that reflects these facts . Yet Israel was able to quickly build a magnificent WALL , all along their West Bank / Pal-land border . It is able to cordon off the Gaza border to the point that not even to most vigorous of violent border breaking attempts succeed . It is able to guard it’s coastlines so that almost no terrorist or illegal immigrant boats get thru . It is able to deploy it’s military , within it’s own boundaries , and to discover , attack , and destroy any threats to it’s national integrity . Including these tunnels .
WHY CAN’T WE DO THAT ?

Suspend it . It’s time to try the Israeli model . Time to get tough . Time for a leader with full plenary powers .
