Thanks. At first I read your post as sarcastic but you’re genuine. And I appreciate that kindness ethic you have.
I love truth but really, “Grandpa died peacefully in his sleep” is a lot kinder to both him and the kids rather than “He was writhing in agony and defecating.”
Perhaps it is a character flaw.
I can lie. Sometimes, it is necessary.
But I really dislike doing so.
So I avoid "white lies".
I would just tell them Grandpa died. He was sick, and he died. No need to go into the messy details.
But, at some point it is necessary for children to grow up and know the messy details about life in general.

Take the chip off, it’s childish.....funny how some have something so deeply set in their minds at a generic level they refuse to consider actual conditions on a case by case level...the guy you were defending had zero evidence of anything except that we know a LOT of lead was flying and it was a chaotic situation and some cop has to live with the fact his bullet killed one of his fellows.....the guy also says he “has experience” with LEOs and the Marines... but neglects to say if he actually wore a uniform...all to boost his “creds”.....because he knew the only good ones, all the rest are “Black-gloved, badge-heavy” thugs who evidently murder their own for giggles....and so far you seem to be a good dinner date for the guy.
Have a history with law enforcement? If not, I predict a change.......twit.

Nope - but I have a brain and been around weapons all my life. Spent 24 years in uniform in the AF and was never put in harms way.....I know there are dirty/inept cops out there but I also know that most are actual good guys who lay it on the line whenever they put on the uniform and often risk their own safety even when “off duty”....I doubt I could do their job because personal preservation might make me a little quick on the trigger so it pisses me off when a bunch of pansies/snowflakes, who never knocked on a door to be met with gunfire, act like some high and mighty judge of all cops out of sheer egotistic arrogance....and have others back them up in their ignorance.
