By getting to (and releasing for public consumption) the truth about China's theft of intellectual property, Trump has pulled back the curtain on those in the U.S. and elsewhere who have been willing to sell Western interests out for money.

From the article: Still, he said, “the label of ‘foreigner’ is always on your forehead.”

No duh. I would suggest that all these expat's passports be pulled. They went there for the money, they made it there instead of trying to help America out with jobs here, they most likely vote democrat and NOW let them eat their money.

At this point, why bother with China and the Chicoms. They are the industrial might behind the globalists. Build stuff in the U.S. and East Asian countries that ring China and send her back to the 1960s.

China can keep their fentanyl, spies, and crappy toys.

The Han view themselves as the master race.

That means they expect to only be tried by other Han.

Will be interesting to see what happens next.

I think the bigger picture is that Huawei could become a dominant force in international telecom and internet routing meaning that (despite their claims to the contrary) the government of China could be harvesting all data that flow through said networks. Think about that for just a minute.

A byproduct of that would be extensive knowledge of our industrial and commercial data bases, our financial data, and perhaps more importantly, the personal profiles of important people. This would not only be a massive security breach, it would be a step towards a goal of Chinese domination of world politics and trading.

The specific charges having to do with exporting tech to Iran refer to a more specific risk, namely, that Iran would get in on this action. And their use of it could be a good deal more dangerous than China’s use of it.

Meanwhile, it’s being reported here in Canada that a former diplomat of ours who happened to be in China has been grabbed on some pretext, so now they have themselves a bargaining chip. We do extensive trade with China, maple syrup is not very high on the list, coal, oil, lumber and potash are. China would not want to lose access to those so we might expect a fair amount of strong language and posturing and deal-making behind the scenes.

Given Justin Trudeau’s well known admiration for China, I have to imagine that this happened entirely without his knowledge (in advance) and that he’s privately steaming about it, which causes me a considerable amount of pleasure. China really have their hooks into British Columbia and its larger cities in particular, it’s more of an issue in this province than back in Middle Earth from where we are governed (a term I use loosely here).
