So true. It should be good news but it’s not. The Rat halo affect will just bring more traitors to Texas. Actually I think that is one reason they picked Austin.

I remember when the Broken Spoke still had only beer caps for paving. Austin is done. Should go ahead and give it another name - probably one that is non-gender specific.

Rep. David Crockett
Mr. Stephen B. Austin
Mr. James Bowie
Col. William B. Travis

and most of all,

Gen./Pres. Samuel Houston (everyone loves a winner!)

Where are you guys? We need you NOW!

Yep, it’ll just attract Lefty millennial Californians to Texas. Hardly a blessing.

People from Wheeling, West Virginia and Paducah, Kentucky are free to apply for those Apple jobs in Austin.

Blessing or curse depends on how much, if anything, this is costing local and/or state taxpayers in terms of bribes...er, incentives.

Haven’t been able to find any info on that anywhere.

Good luck with that. The people doing the hiring will be either from California or lived there quite some time.

Another tech giant, Amazon, recently announced its decision to split its new headquarters — along with 50,000 jobs — between New York and suburban Washington, D.C.

I heard that Amazon placed these new locations within 10 miles of their owners homes in these states.

Much like Taco Bell moving their HQ from Denver to CA because the owner had a home nearby.

Wonder if any Apple execs already have second homes in the area. If so, wanna bet that their tax home becomes Texas before too long?

That will tell you all you need to know about Austin Texas. It’s been working on becoming the San Francisco of the Southwest, and it’s day has come.

Keep in mind that Texas hasn’t been in the Red column all that long.
Go back three governors and you’ll find democrats as statewide officers.

Texas was won from Mexico via immigration. Now it will be lost via jobs seeking, no income tax, and demographics.

“why they pick Austin over Waco, Amarillo or Del Rio?”

Isn’t it rather obvious? These are not low-end assembly jobs. They are high-end engineering and finance jobs that require an educated workforce.

The presence of UC Berkeley and Stanford Universities were instrumental in making Silicon Valley the same way.
