A scathing report from Attorney General Lisa Madigan finds the number of Catholic priests accused of sexual abuse against children in Illinois is much higher than previously acknowledged.
The report said accusations have been leveled against 690 priests, while Catholic officials have publicly identified only 185 clergy with credible allegations against them.

When are we going to discuss the truth behind this scandal? The Catholic Church realizing the decline in men going into the priesthood relaxed their requirements and turned a blinds eye who were becoming priests. Should I say anymore? One thing I will say is that I was an alter boy and NEVER saw that behavior - never. Not saying it didn’t happen, but was it at the level being accused by the media?
Both numbers could be correct (but not likely). Accusations and credible accusations are two different things.
My brother and I were altar boys too and neither of us were ever molested or abused. Father got a little ticked off if we messed up (which was a lot, we were boys) but he also apologized to us.
It is being covered up by the pope of the deep state.
The Church has lost all discipline
The discipline of doctrine, the discipline of behavior, the discipline that Satan and sin are real and must be avoided at all costs, the discipline of discernment, the discipline of honest management.
The Church is awash in emotionalism, which has caused this post-modern, homosexual destruction.
OMG, I had a similar experience. It was an early mass and I was pouring the water and wine into the challis. Poured too much water and the priest got mad at me. It was 7:30am mass and I figured he wanted more water than wine. I learned my lesson and from that point on I only let a few drops of water into the challis!

I hope people remembered that not all accusations are credible. Especially when the possibility of getting money is involved. But all should be investigated and taken seriously until shown to be otherwise.
We know two families who are leaving mainline churches to become Catholics because their mainline churches have gays working for their churches.
I have suggested to them that they need to research this huge time bomb re abuse of boys and male youth by Catholic priests. Their potential new church has denied the reality of the problem.
Yes, accusations may not all be correct. However, if your pastor goes to Provincetown for two weeks in the summer and his assistant is busy planting tulips all around the rectory in the fall - they’re a good chance these guys have other things on their mind. Not saying they’re preying on altar boys.
