How much does NY send in vs. what they get back?
(This is actually a very tricky question, as some “benefits”, such as military protection, are hard to quantify.)
BTW, Post 46 answered my question to you, partially, but the value of what NY “gets back” in return for what its citizens and businesses “send in” to FedGov would probably take a very long book to answer, and conservative analysts would have a much different answer than libs, IMO. :-)

Cede NYC and Philthadelphia (aka West Camden) to the People’s Democratic Republic of Nuevo Jersey. All three states would be greatly improved.
