Full title: Knights of Columbus issue a pitch-perfect response to the anti-Catholic bigotry to Senators Hirono and Harris
Readers of American Thinker ( here, here, and here) are familiar with the appalling religious test for office that seems to be lurking in the questions submitted in writing to a nominee for a federal judgeship by Senators Hirono and Harris. In sum:
In a series of questions sent to Buescher, Hirono asked whether his membership in the Knights of Columbus would prevent him from hearing cases "fairly and impartially" and, if confirmed, whether he would end his membership in the organization.
"The Knights of Columbus has taken a number of extreme positions," Hirono said in the questionnaire. "For example, it was reportedly one of the top contributors to California's Proposition 8 campaign to ban same-sex marriage."
Harris meantime, in her questions to the nominee, called the Knights of Columbus "an all-male society" and asked the Nebraska lawyer if he was aware that the group was anti-abortion and anti-gay marriage when he joined[.]
The Knights have responded with dignity, honor, and (best of all) an open hand. Hat tip to Paul Mirengoff for bringing their open letter to my attention. I doubt that either senator is capable of shame, but if they were, they would surely be resolving to leave this bigotry behind in 2019.

Greetings from your local, Capitol Hill-area Knights of Columbus Council, Patrick Cardinal O’Boyle Council 11302! We recently read about statements which expressed the fear that the Knights of Columbus held many extreme beliefs. It is our great pleasure to assure you that this fear is not grounded in any truth. The Knights of Columbus in general, and O’Boyle Council in particular are dedicated to the three fundamental principles of charity, unity, and fraternity.

Well, it looks as though 2019 is off “to a good start” with these two reprobates! I had hopes that 2019 would be a better year than 2018, but it looks like that’s not likely to be the case.
Hirono, the skank, doesn’t deserve a response. Only scorn and to be ignored for her ignorance.
Marxists are anti-any religion not just the Catholic one. They preach that religion is the opiate of the people and want the state to supplant it. It is basic to them.

I think that these two Senators hold extremest positions against people of the Christian faith.
As a Judeo-Christian founded nation, should elected officials be expected to pass non-bigotry against Christians test, as a qualification to represent Americans?
Of course, the Clintons and Obama were at one time against same-sex marriage. That was the default position in America. It wasn't even controversial for a couple centuries.
I have an observation which is, of course, no shock to those of us here at FR, but still ...
In any political system there will be debate:
Should we change the tax rate by X or by Y?
Should we spend money to replace Z or should we keep what we have?
Should we try to have more A or less A?
The Democrats today now think that anyone who takes a political position which differs from the current Democrat position is basically a war criminal. Anathema. Someone to be shunned and ostracized. This sort of dehumanization is critical before the purges and show trials can begin.
The basic psychology of the Left is consistent over many, many years. It always ends in an attempt at mass murder.

There are many additional Democrat Senators who are CINOs (Catholic in name only) who agree with Harris and Hirono more than with the K of C.

As to the extremist remarks by Hirono and Harris I say they are the extremists for advocating the murder human beings and promoting perversity.
No one ever comes away evil by being a faithful church attender.
Denominations, schmenominations .... if you listen regularly to a man talk to you about God and Godly things, the bank account you draw from is clean money.
Well if it were the “Knights of Morocco” they might have a gripe but, they’re mere Catholics and NOT a protected class.
