I've had former high school classmates want to debate me via email on the virtues of progressive polices.

It's not that I don't know what they are preaching and need to listen to them to learn more.
It's that I already know what they are espousing and vehemently disagree with them.
There's only so many ways they can try to make socialism sound like a good thing. In the end it's still a failed economic system and has been through history.
This new democratic socialist AOC and her great, great, grandfather, Bernie Sanders, seem not to notice what's going on in Venezuela and assume the rest of us aren't paying attention ourselves.

How many time have the climate crazies claimed if we didn't do something RIGHT NOW, we would all be dead and the earth would fry in ten years? Too many times to count.
And what happens when these constant deadlines keep coming and going and nothing happens? Are they challenged or do they rethink their position? No, they just double-down and come up with yet another ten year end game. Talk about stupid is as stupid does.
We're being asked to believe these people, like Sanders, on economics issues when the man never had a job until well into his 40s when he somehow became mayor of some Vermont town. He wouldn't know anything about how our economic system works.
And this new democRAT socialist, AOC, has a degree in economics but must have slept through the parts on how capitalism works and socialism doesn't. Her experience is as a bartender and now we're supposed to trust her economic judgement where she wants everyone to have everything for free?
If this is the new leadership of the democRATS, imagine how lame-brained their followers are. Pixie dust and unicorn farts.
Normally I don’t waste my time with libs either. But this young 23yr old is dating a loved family member. Was hoping i was being a good role model. Hoping some experience and maturity will fix them. Yep, been a little busy in the prayer department lately,,very busy! laf.

My daughter was like that early on, dating liberals boys who were not men yet.
She matured before they did and grew out of them.
Now she's a responsible adult and a homeowner, learning that liberalism is not compatible with success. She is a massage therapist and physical therapy tech and works for herself.
No more liberal boy toys for her.

I've read it three times, the second reading turned me into a conservative.
If he won't spend time to read the whole book (it takes me a couple of months to get through it myself), ask him to read the chapter on the 20th Century Motor Corporation.
That chapter by itself describes what happens when you turn a successful capitalistic company over to a bunch of young socialists and watch them destroy it by the unattended consequences of their rose-colored glasses outlook on life.
