Record shutdown is a massive Washington failure (CNN fake news double bag barf alert)
CNN ^ | January12, 2019 | Stephen Collinson

President Donald Trump often boasts he's presiding over a record breaking presidency.

Now he's got another historic notch on his belt, the longest-ever government shutdown -- an impasse that marks a new low for Washington dysfunction.

[Snip]

Since Trump crowed he would be "proud" to shutter the government over the wall, he gets to shoulder much of the blame for a crisis that is the inevitable result when the nation's political polarization is institutionalized in Washington.

The last three weeks have exposed the lack of empathy of a billionaire President who shrugs off the struggles of federal workers who work paycheck to paycheck. Trump is clearly more concerned about a pet political project than his constitutional role of providing governance to all Americans.

But he is not alone in his dereliction of duty. The Republican-led Senate is doing nothing to offer its President a face saving way out. And while House Democrats are going through the motions of passing bills to reopen government, they don't seem to be doing much else to break the logjam.

[Snip]

The stalemate represents a crucial first fight between Trump and his Democratic enemies in Washington's new era of divided government.

But every battle has victims. And right now it's 800,000 government workers who feel insulted, forgotten and anxious about rent, mortgage, car payment and medical bills piling up.

I’ll bet Stephen Collinson soiled himself on his Twitter feed when Trump curb-stomped Felonia in November 2016.

It is a massive leftist failure. Point your finger where it belongs, folks. On your leftist friends, family and neighbors.

I don’t do the NYT or CNN and I turned off my cable back in 2011.

I get my news elsewhere.

Trump is proud to stand for the forgotten men and women of this country who have been lied to by both parties for over 30 years. No one has ever stood for the American citizens like Trump has!

One murder by an illegal alien is enough to close the government in shame for lack of action. Pelosi and Schumer get to shoulder 100% of the blame for the government shutdown. They can end the shutdown in a heartbeat if they cared. The Democrats offer the same lip service to protecting our borders as they have for fifty years.

It is time for the Democrats and their accomplices in the media to take a time out to think about who they are helping. Are they supporting their vows to uphold the Constitution or are they supporting some unknown foreign entity?

I marvel at how well the country is running without its useless Democrat civil servants to muck it up.

The ironic thing is they’re Democrat pawns in a fight over a measly $5 billion dollars that’s become a fight about the country’s future.

Democrats need government open and Trump doesn’t. He’s winning every day it stays closed.

Its dawning on fhem and their fake news acolytes they’ve been beaten by someone they loathe and consider beneath them.

Trump doesn’t need their approval to govern as President. He never had it.

It sure looks to me that about 800,000 drones need to find some other means of employment.

Why is it HIS belt? Congress isn't budging either. Why does Trump get the blame?
