Ben Sasse re-introduces 'Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act' ahead of March for Life....

Sen. Ben Sasse, R-Neb., this week reintroduced his Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, a move that comes just days before the official start of the 37th annual March for Life.

“Everybody loves babies, and that love has nothing to do with politics and everything to do with just having a heart,” the Republican senator said in a statement.

It added, “This legislation is an opportunity for Congress to find consensus built on common sense, compassion, science, and a simple fact: every baby deserves a fighting chance at life. Providing care for newborns is more important than partisan political divides. Every baby has dignity – every baby deserves protection and love.”

Current federal law does not provide adequate protections for children who survive the abortion process, the senator argues.

The legislation that Sasse has reintroduced “requires that, when an abortion results in the live birth of an infant, health care practitioners must exercise the same degree of professional skill and care to protect the newborn as would be offered to any other child born alive at the same gestational age,” according to a statement provided by his office. “It also requires that the living child, after appropriate care has been given, be immediately transported and admitted to a hospital."

Though the bill, which was originally introduced in 2017, provides for penalties for abortionists who knowingly fail to comply with the proposed legislation, it is careful to exempt mothers from prosecution.

Yeah. You’d think that a guy who’s supposed to be pro life would love what Trump is doing to further the cause. What a rat.

Sasse ‘how he votes’ in the Senate FACT with the president more than 87% of the time.

By the numbers, Sasse is even more loyal than Rand Paul (75%) and Utah’s Mike Lee (81%).

Even though he openly muses about Trump he toes the Republican line. Most recently, when it came to the Brett Kavanaugh confirmation he voted him through.

Sasse is a party man.....and he’ll huddle with whatever holds to the constitution as he sees it.

Shameless grandstanding. What is his plan to Get this to Trump’s desk? Oh, that’s right, he doesn’t have one because Democrats control Congress (yeah, I know spineless Mitch is the Senate majority leader). How many times has he voted to fund planned parenthood since trump was elected?

[“Everybody loves babies, and that love has nothing to do with politics”]

Guess ol’ Ben doesno’t get out too much.

See, Ben, there’s this thing called “Planned Parenthood” and there is this group of people called “Democrats” that like to support Planned Parenthood.

O.K., that’s enough for today. Don’t want to overload Sasse’s brain.

Few of them care about the unborn....let alone the people. It’s all about their status and positions of power.......

I admit I get hopeful when I see Bills introduced favorable to these unprotected babies....even though I also realize those bills never get brought to the floor for the most part.

When Dubya was elected President the GOP establishment held the Presidency, the House, and the Senate.

They had the votes to pass any abortion bill that they wanted.

Only slow learners and the gullible think that establishment Republicans actually intended to change things.

They want to keep the abortion issue alive for fund raising and to mobilize right to life voters at election time.

If they banned abortion then that all goes away. Which is why Dubya and Friends did nothing when they had the chance.

Ben Sasse and his fellow establishment stooges know that his bill has zero chance at becoming law, because the Democrats rule the House.

So they are free to posture all that they want, to vote for his bill and make great speeches because they know that this bill has absolutely no chance at becoming law.
