Since the RECOGNIZED president has not ordered them out, Trump should ignore Maduro, and send troops to secure our embassies.
Lots of them.
Marines
Wow. Imagine getting that plum assignment - Ambassador to Venezuela.
There was a time when ALL embassies were protected by Marines. Is this not true anymore?
Anybody ask Hussein to weigh in on this. Hussein and Maduro’s mentor (Chavez) were co-sympathetic.
Yes, with small unit. Need reinforcements
I was in the Philippines last October and went to the US embassy for “private matters” and they were there right in front...ready to blow you away if you misbehave.
No. None of our business. Venezuelans elected Chavez and Maduro. Let them starve.
Just a few guys from the VFW happy hour could wipe out Venezuela...
Oh, boy. The military down there needs to pi$$ or get off the pot.
While I do not wish for a prolonged war, I think President Trump might partner with Brazil’s president and launch a war to oust the damn thug. I wonder if the mere suggestion might provoke the Venezuela military to turn tail and run or even join us, making the invasion unnecessary, or at least a quick ordeal.
Depending on the size and threat, there is between a squad up to about a platoon of Marines at any given embassy, some more, some less. There are a total of 1603 authorized MSG (Marine Security Guard) positions to service 174 embassies.
At one time that WAS A PLUM ASSIGNMENT!
Venezuela was the wealthiest country in South America, they had beautiful parks, modern buildings and lots of food.
Now all they have is a shithole..............
[Wow. Imagine getting that plum assignment - Ambassador to Venezuela.]
Almost as desirable as Ambassador to Lybia....
Congresswoman Kotex would make a fine ambassador to Caracas
And people like Occassionally-Coherent want the same socialist-style government here....
The US Embassy in Tehran was "protected" by Marines ...
The usual Marine detachment at an Embassy isn't enough to protect it if the natives get truly restless.
