The shocking takeaway to me actually is that Hugh Hewitt appears to be 80% onboard with the wall.
My dear departed mother was a good liberal like Brokaw, though she never followed politics that much.
She lived on the West Coast all of her life, and her stories about life during WWII and the Depression were riveting...when I could get them out of her.
She never spoke about the Japanese internments after Pearl Harbor, though I tried mightily several times to discuss it with her.
She was decidedly not pleased when I told her about a beautiful Hispanic woman I was dating. I then explained to her there weren't that many blue-eyed blondes in El Paso (I was stationed at Fort Bliss at the time).
Over the years, we provided her with 3 "brown grandbabies". There's no doubt she loved and adored all 3.
When I married my Hispanic husband, my very white father said that if anybody ever said anything to tell them it was none of their business. Ironically it was most of my Hispanic friends who lamented me marrying another Hispanic. One told me they are socially beneath me and almost all of my Mexican girlfriends became very uncomfortable while around us. Strange race relations are unfortunate and Brokaws Remarks I once again proof that the biggest racists are the leftists liberals who fake their purity
