Mark Zuckerberg’s immigration lobbyist says President Donald Trump’s 2016 voters will stick with him “100 percent” in 2020 if he signs amnesty legislation backed by the Koch business group.
“Polling and common sense dictates this to be true,” said a tweet from Todd Schulte, director of the FWD.US lobbying group, which is trying to preserve the federal policy of importing more than 1 million new consumers and workers each year. He continued:
People think the President is gonna see a bunch of people vote for a Dem or Howard Schultz if he signs a border and daca deal? This is not a real thing, just a scare tactic.
Schulte did not refer to the more likely result of a Trump-signed, Koch-backed amnesty bill: A sharp drop in enthusiasm and turnout for Trump in 2020.
That turnout slump likely would be seen among the blue-collar Americans hit by illegal migration and among the white-collar Americans who are slammed by U.S. companies’ employment of roughly 1.5 million college-educated, temporary visa workers.
Schulte’s FWD was created by Zuckerberg, Microsoft founder Bill Gates and a variety of investors to promote amnesty and cheap labor. The group backed the 2013 “Gang of Eight” amnesty which would have allowed an unlimited inflow of foreign graduates and has waged an expensive campaign against Trump’s 2016 campaign and his Inauguration Day “Hire American” promise.
Schulte’s tweet was also intended to defend former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, who claimed on Fox News that Trump’s base would support a bill which combined a “DACA” amnesty with some wall-construction money.
Gingrich’s statement was slammed by author Ann Coulter and also by Mickey Kaus, who is a left-of-center, pro-American immigration reformer.

Don’t know who this guy is or who he thinks he’s polled, but he’s full of crap and just another Koch Brother/Globalist Stooge if he thinks for one minute Trump’s base is going to back blanket amnesty for illegals.
A pathway to citizenship for DACA would likely not be a problem if it was handled right, but some blanket amnesty for all illegals? Trump will lose huge if he were to do that. His base would abandon him in a heartbeat...
As it is a segment of his base, is screaming bloody murder just because he opened up the government again... Even though the battle is hardly over, regarding the wall.

Some may do this. But many, many other conservatives will simply "disappear" when they are betrayed. They won't be polled, they won't participate, and they won't vote. You can't measure what you can't see. This is the pollsters' blind spot, and if these people abandon Trump, he's finished.
This is clearly a lie.
If Trump even whispers the word 'amnesty' his base will be gone before he finishes the third syllable.
Since this is a lie why state it?
I suspect they want this to enter the public narrative so they can cite it as fact.
While I won’t, there is an obvious element even here on FR that would, rationalizing that he is the “Best Choice”. They’ll even bully and insult anyone that dares question or criticize. So yes, Trump can likely give amnesty, which is already occurring in many respects, and keep a large part of his base that are afraid to speak up in advance to scream No, else will quietly rationalize it later. Country loses and we get what we deserve if we idly stand by or defend it.
Oh, hell no! But this Todd Schulte guy does have a point. Most MAGA folks would still vote for Trump in 2020. Because what's the alternative? Sit home and watch Beto or Warren or some other commie win?
What would I personally do in 2020 if there is amnesty, and just the pitiful beginnings of a wall? On election day I'd leave it up to the Magic 8-Ball.

An Amnesty, with or without a “wall”, will do exactly the opposite, accelerating our transition to that fate.
