Listen, I know Jesus is the savior and our advocate when we stand before God and I know they are separate entities. The problem with theology is that they can’t deal with that because to believe that makes you polytheist. Which IMO it does not. That’s real issue here.

It’s like I said, sometimes intelligence gets in the way of believing the simplicity of the Gospel. Facts, logic, reason, and intellect are all important. God gave us these things also. But sometimes we have to accept what God says by faith without knowing and understanding everything. That’s what children do.

God is too big and too complex for us to understand. He has to condescend to us and relate to us in a way that we can know Him. This is why God became a man.

Many books have been written to help us understand the nature of God theologically. God made humans in His image. We have a body, soul, and spirit. But we understand that these form one human being. Only the body is visible to us.

God is One. But He exists in three persons or expressions of identity. We cannot see the Spirit of God because He is a spirit, which is invisible. We cannot see the Father because if we did we would die. But the Son has been manifested. He can be seen.

Whenever God is seen by a human in the Old Testament, that theophany is Jesus, the eternal Son. This is why Adam, Eve, Abraham, Sarah, Moses, and others saw God and lived. He was manifested as the Lord, i.e. YaHWeH, God the Son.

All three persons of the Godhead are properly described as the “Creator,” and we have only one Creator.

Theologians use very precise words to accurately describe the nature of God. For example, it is said God is three persons, but not three individuals. The latter is a heresy called tritheism.

Theologians describe this as the hypostatic union of the three persons of the Godhead who are co-equal and co-eternal, one in essence, substance, nature, power, action, and will. These three persons being of one essence or substance is also called consubstantiality or coessentiality.

So, Jesus says that by seeing Him we see the Father. The same is true of believing in Him. We can pray to Him and to the Father. We can worship Him and worship the Father.

John 14:1
Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me.

John 14:9
Jesus said to him, “Have I been with you so long, and yet you have not known Me, Philip? He who has seen Me has seen the Father; so how can you say, ‘Show us the Father’?”

God has progressively revealed Himself to mankind through the unfolding of His eternal plan by which we will fulfill the purpose for which we were created: to glorify God and enjoy Him (and He us) forever. In these last days, Hebrews 1 tells us, He has revealed Himself as “Father” by sending His “Son” into this world. A father is something we can relate to. God uses other figurative language to help us understand who He is. Jesus is described as the Word and Wisdom of God. These are eternal expressions and attributes inseparable from His essence.

Jesus is the expression, aspect, or person of the Godhead we can relate to because He became a human being. By knowing Him we can know God.

Confessing Jesus not only as Savior but also as Lord is essential for our salvation. This is the demarkation of those who have saving faith. We are those who call on the name of the Lord, as I demonstrated from scripture earlier. The Greek term for Lord refers to the same person as the Hebrew term for Lord because He is the same person. Jesus is the Lord, i.e. YaHWeH.

No one can call Him Lord (with sincerity and believing it with their whole heart) unless the Holy Spirit enables Him. Knowledge of the deity and identity of Christ is not something we can acquire merely by intellectual pursuit. God must intervene because salvation is supernatural.

1 Corinthians 12:3b
No one can say that Jesus is Lord except by the Holy Spirit.
