(CNN) -- We may never know what Casey Hathaway was doing during the three days he was missing.
He was found on Thursday, cold but alive, in a mess of vines and thorns in Craven County, North Carolina.
But the 3-year-old has volunteered one noteworthy detail about those days in the woods: a bear kept him company.

Coulda been a big foot?
The area where he was lost has a huge population of black bears....
Must have provided him the bear necessities.
Regardless, it’s a great story.
Sounds like a typical fake news world view. “Nobody can prove it didn’t happen.” That ain’t how it works.
It is a great story though.
They should be able to call in a tracker, and see if there were any bear paw prints around.
The kid did survive. He kept warm somehow.
Cute kid. Glad he made it.
You know, it’s interesting what things do take place at times. Remember that Gorilla that helped that kid that fell into his cage.
God can use any creature He wants as in effect an “Angel” to watch over us?
Pretty cool thought...
My guess is that a big shaggy dog stayed with him and kept him company. To a 3 yrs old a big long hair dog and a bear would be close enough to being the same.
A bear would probably not attack a 3 year old because he would not pose a threat. So, its possible that a bear came along and took him in for a while. If the bear actually came in contact with him there should be forensic evidence on his clothes.
Show the lad a series of pictures of a bear, dog, big foot,
etc and let him pick out what he spent time with.
Three year olds are pretty darn smart! Truth will be out.
Well, I dont think he would have threatened a bear in any way.
LOVE IT...LOL......LOVE IT...HA HA HA.
I suppose it’s bearly possible...
That movie he had seen a few days or weeks ago, the one with a bear or bears in it, a cartoon one perhaps.....
well, it was fresh in his mind and had dreams about it while lost in the woods.
