I thought a candidate could use campaign funds for things like clothing, jewelry, watches etc. It helps promote their image and thus deemed a campaign expense.

RIs that really true? It would be a corner of corruption I wasn't aware of.

Still, in AOC's case, it's been advertised that she was elected on a shoestring, in a district where the turnout was exceptionally low, beating a long-term, mail-it-in no-show incumbent who thought perpetual re-election was guaranteed. If that's the case, she didn't have all that much in the campaign coffers for dress-up, as winning is what made her famous.

I think someone else is footing the bill as part of her promotion.

Is it liberal designers using her as a model for their wares by donating? Or is someone actually paying cash?

Does she tell them she's a size 8, or does she get custom fitted? Just curious as to how the political promo machine works.
