Top House Republican blasts Trump for ignoring Congress on Khashoggi report

The top Republican on the House Foreign Affairs Committee joined Democrats Saturday in criticizing President Trump’s failure to send a report to Congress on the murder of Saudi Arabian dissident and journalist Jamal Khashoggi.

Rep. Michael McCaul of Texas said he is “deeply troubled” by the administration’s failure to meet the deadline on Friday for submitting a report on the slaying that is linked to the Saudi royal family.

The White House said in a statement that Congress can’t force the president to act.

“Consistent with the previous administration’s position and the constitutional separation of powers, the president maintains his discretion to decline to act on congressional committee requests when appropriate,” the administration said, adding that the U.S. already has taken action against the killers.

Secretary of State Mike Pompeo sent a letter to Congress outlining actions taken by the U.S. against individuals believed to be involved in the killing, but stopped short of describing who was ultimately responsible.

RINO McCaul had best let POTUS and the executive branch handle the murder of a Muslim Brotherhood member and sympathizer in a foreign country.

I don’t know but it’s ridiculous, the world is undoubtedly a better place with Khashoggi gone.

Jamal Khashoggi was a mouthpiece for and defacto member of the terrorist organization The Muslim Brotherhood. So, the Saudis killed a known terrorist and enemy. Why the hell would anyone other than terrorist sympathizers give a rats ass about this?

Who the heck is McCaul?
And why is he busy giving us a headache over a Saudi citizen who was Osama Bin Laden’s best pal and also worked for the Washington Post spewing out anti American propaganda?
Has this guy(who is from Texas by the way) ever raised a stink about all those journalists who are regularly killed in Mexico(right across the border from Texas)?

I’m “deeply troubled” by this turds inability to realize that this incident was not any of our business. Saudi Arabia is a sovereign nation that does whatever based on it’s own policies...not ours. Perhaps the deluded Congress critter should be more “deeply troubled” by the indiscriminate killings of babies in his (our) own country instead of what happens in sovereign nations. what a blowhard

I'm deeply troubled by the failure of the GOP in Congress to carry out the will of the people and build a border wall as promised. As for this guy McCaul and his concerns over what Saudis do to each other - he needs to consider which country and what people he wants to represent.
