Why not? If it weren’t for Chicago, most of Illinois politicians would be Republican’s. For the most part, the millions that live in that dump are the reason the place goes to the Dem’s. Let them and then have Illinois build a gigantic, YUGE wall around it. They don’t/cannot produce anything, so they’d have to buy their food from Illinois farmers and cattle ranchers. They’d starve in a week.
The state of Chicago? Only if the following will join it: New York, Los Angeles, Boston, Bridgeport, CT, New Haven, CT, Hartford,CT, Portland (Maine and Oregon), Seattle, Tampa, Orlando, Minneapolis and Washington DC. I think if that happened, we might have a chance in Oregon, Washington, California, Connecticut, Minnesota and strengthen our hold in Maine.
Let’s just name all the demorat blue states “Stinky Onion”, or even “Stinky Union”.
Not states, Districts, like DC. No senators.
How about making it an isolated region of Canada?

I doubt it, unless the rest of the state has a healthy birthrate for Americans. The rural south would end up ruled by Hispanic braceros working the farms, while the “state of Chicago” would still be ruled by the Corruptocrats - 4 Dem senators in a very short time.
When I see these schemes discussed I get the impression that Dems are pessimistic about ever re-taking the Senate in the long term - as though their plans for this country would automatically infuriate voters in 26 states.
This would create two new incredibly liberal senator positions in Congress! Don’t fall for it!

There’s another story (Menomonee or Ojibwa) that says it means “the place where skunks live.” An Indian hunting party asked the locals for a good place to hunt. They were pointed toward “checagou” and the only game they found was skunks.
I have always been partial to that one.
This idea has some merit. The senate would be a wash. Congress, not so sure. Electoral College, would help the marxists. This idea should be considered though as the real people living in states these marxist hell holes reside in essentially don’t have any representation.
Actually, in some cases there would be merit in turning democrat controlled metropolitan areas into separate states, if you can turn one democrat controlled state into two states, one democrat controlled urban state and one Republican controlled rural state.
