decision based upon your own independent research
Oh, I did, I did. A Dallas radio station, KAAM, was poring over a ‘personality test’ I was only too familiar with. When I called and pointed out it was a Scientology scam they dropped it immediately.
I like to think I saved someone from being sucked into that black hole.

5 million year contract? Slacker millenials. Back in my day it was a 1 billion year contract!
The Sea Org sure ain't what it used to be.

I think, sadly that she is no longer living. The bowels of Scientology real estate are deep and vast. I have no doubt that David Miscavige could still be holding his wife prisoner at one of their lesser known locations.

Ite was Bill Clinton who gave them church status. They were incorporated as a church long before Bill Clinton's time.

I keep hearing the term clear the planet...
.of what, non-scientologists? The word 'clear' is used as a noun and a verb in Scientology.
When a person a person is 'cleared' of all the emotional charge in their reactive (unconscious) mind, they are said to have achieved the state of 'Clear'.
The goal of Scientology is to bring everyone on the planet to that state, thus 'clearing the planet'.

I think she wanted out, and she knew too much to be allowed out. Yes. Shelly 'knows where all the bodies are buried.'
No. She never had any desire to leave.

I was clear after 2 years and then I saw things so clearly I left the cult. Took me a bit longer than two years, but after going Clear, I also saw the cult a lot differently.

How was her father in law allowed to leave after 42 years without disappearing? You would think he would know a lot as well. Ron Miscavige was never highly placed in the organization, and was never in a position to know 'where all the bodies are buried.'
And he wasn't allowed to leave. He and his wife escaped.

Good job! They are so sneaky how they disguise certain projects and programs as generic self help in order to seduce vulnerable people.

Really. I thought people being interviewed said it’s still a billion-year contract. (And wouldn’t just that alone make people roll their eyes and walk away? It’s like sixth graders are playing office or something. A billion years.)

I thought people being interviewed said its still a billion-year contract. It is. The poster upthread just got the order of magnitude wrong.
...wouldnt just that alone make people roll their eyes and walk away?
What's a billion years to an immortal spirit? That's the mindset people are in when they sign the Sea Org contract.

John John was killed in exchange. He was doing a big expose for his magazine on the organization. And Bill needed him out of the way for Hill. The day he was killed, they released a movie called Drop Dead Gorgeous which was later changed to something else.
