It would be poetic justice, is deliciously named, and wouldn’t cost the taxpayers a dime. It doesn’t make Mexico pay for the wall, just one particular Mexican wjo has done great injury to the people of the United States and who is responsible for a major part of drugs flooding into the United States.
It is legislation introduced by Sen.Ted Cruz of Texas last year – the Ensuring Lawful Collection of Hidden Assets to Provide Order (E.L.C.H.A.P.O.) Act which would use fund confiscated from drug dealers like El Chapo and traffickers to pay for border security. As Cruz explained after introducing his bill in April of 2017:

Incredible how the New York jury is still deliberating the guilt/fate of El Chapo, now into their second week.
You’d think the evidence would be overwhelming.

Then again, how many corporate golden parachute and pension funds would be bankrupted if they took all the cash from the drug trade out of the system?

That should happen drug money and drug dealers should have to pay for the wall..It would be done and over with if that happened..Obama should be in jail for the money Obama stole from us..He came into the white house with nothing but left with million maybe even billions..

Has drug trafficking decreased now that El Chapo is out of business? How about human trafficking?
El Chapo was probably taken out to pave the way for a more lucrative criminal enterprise that added human trafficking and fentanyl to their services. Of course now the DEA and the other corrupt federal law enforcement agencies can claim credit. Now they have a bigger and better criminal organization to “work with” (pretend investigations and 20 year stings). More money for the federal bureaucracy and politicians protection racket schemes. Just thank the money laundering banks, bitcoin, and off shore havens.

Well, El Chapo, has been on trial by the feds in NYC for the last couple of months, the jury is in its 6th day of deliberations and still hasn’t come back with a verdict. This was considered a slam dunk for the feds, but whether the jury doesn’t trust the feds or their scared to convict; he might go free.
Among other large pools of cash, yes.

The jury finally convicted him on 27 counts.
Hopefully, he will now spend the rest of his miserable life behind bars and then rot in Hell!
