Decision at link.

A federal court judge on Wednesday threw out Paul Manafort's plea agreement. According to the judge, when Manafort entered the agreement, he said he would "cooperate fully, truthfully, completely and forthrightly with the government," but he broke that agreement when he lied to special counselor Robert Mueller.

Judge Amy Berman Jackson said that Manafort "intentionally made multiple false statements to the FBI, the OSC [office of the special counsel] and the grand jury concerning matters that were material to the investigation."

Here's the full court decision:

So it’s up to a judge to determine what is/isn’t a lie?

Tragic because it means the difference of a sentence of 80 years vs 60 years in prison to a 70 year old man.

Good grief. This is such a farce.

I predict that his prison sentence will end on Muller’s last day. Same with the charges against Stone and all the other farsical process charges, with the exception of Cohen.

Amy Berman Jackson......always ‘assigned’ to these cases......we must save the judiciary and keep putting forward judges who are FAIR. Judges who do not seek to MAKE LAW, but just APPLY LAW!

He never would have been investigated if he didn’t work for Trump for a time.

One problem is thugs like Mueller judge shopping. They pick the judges that will rule in their favor.

I agree. As soon as Trump gets rid of meuller the END will come. The entire fiasco could have been avoided. Flynn will be vacated. Manafort for time served and Pardon. Stone will be released. This is a Game. don’t like the parameters. Could have been done more swiftly. Gonna be a big $hit$torm soon. Praying for POTUS and the good guys.

I read Stone’s objection to Amy Berman Jackson’s assignment to his case, which was based entirely on the SC’s allegation that the case was “related” to the SC’s indictment of out of jurisdiction Russians who will never see the inside of a courtroom, and it appears well-taken. I will be interested to see both the SC’s response, and the eventual ruling. It’s an issue that Stone could potentially appeal right away.

How can one cooperate fully with Mueller and be truthful at the same time?

The main purpose of the Mueller thug team is to get Trump associates to suborn lies against Trump.

So here the Honorable Judge: "The parties are agreed that it is the government’s burden to show that there has been a breach of the plea agreement, but to be relieved of its obligations [the government] under the agreement, it [the government] must simply demonstrate that its determination [the government's determination that Manafort violated the plea agreement] was made in good faith

That's it. That's the legal standard for abrogatting a plea agreement - that you "in good faith" determined that the other party breached the agreement.

You don't have to demonatrate he breached the agreement. You just have to demonstrate a good faith basis for such belief.

And we just get all of these hooligans a fair trail and a fine hangin' to quote Judge Roy Bean.
