The killer in an Aurora, Illinois shooting on Friday had apparently been fired from his job shortly before the incident, CNN reported.
In the shooting attack, five civilians were killed and five police officers were injured.

The shooter has been identified as 45-year-old Gary Martin. He was killed at the scene.
According to CNN, Martin was fired from his job on Friday. However, according to the New York Post, Martin had been fired two weeks prior to the shooting, after working at the company for 20 years.
The site said that at least one victim said that the weapon had a green laser sight on it.

So, what happens when folks aren’t raised knowing that sometimes things don’t go your way. In other words NOT everybody gets a trophy after all. How do you deal with failure and rejection as an adult if you’re never taught how to deal when you’re a kid? Just another incident for the ‘antis’ to exploit. Were there appropriate NO FIREARMS signs? Was there a company policy of no firearms on the premises? We know where this will go..............

I have fired/laid off many people over the years. Probably in the hundreds. Had a LEO presence for two of them. For the past twenty years we do a security assessment on every one. It’s not hard and it is worth the time.

Is it so difficult in Illinois to fill the position of a factory valve assembler that you have to turn to violent felons?
He had a felony conviction for stabbing a woman. What could go wrong at the workplace?
No mention of the color of the trigger finger, either.

This is a weird new thing that the media is suddenly afraid of.
This fella had multiple prior arrests and was unstable. Apparently, for the 20 prior years he worked there (which is another weird thing the media has latched on to).
Terrible things happen, no matter how many green lasers one has.
It’s not mentioned, so we know what color it is.
He was doing his part to make the field of mass shooters more diversified.
No, it is "citizens", not "civilians". The police are not military.

People who get fired usually know it is coming. They generally become a PITA instead of making themselves so vital the company can’t afford to let them go. IOW they work to make sure their firing is justified.
